    2. Chancelee, can you give us a little more to go on? Do you know when he might have been in Crawford County? Do you have any idea when he was born, or where? Anything you can tell us can help us help you more. Thanks for writing. There are a lot of wonderful people on the list who can probably help you, if you help us a little more. Thanks! 1. Thomas Hudson & George Hodson
    2. Hi...I am searching for a marriage record for two couples in my family. They both either took place in Crawford or Venango Counties. I have written to St. Titus Church in Titusville but they won't check the records for me. Another brother was married at St. Titus so I am assuming that is probably where the other two were married if it took place in Titusville. The first couple is Thomas Hudson and Delia ? who were married about 1880. The other couple was George Hodson and Mary? who were married about 1878. Are there any marriage records available that can be checked? The last name was actually Hodson for these two brothers but I believe Thomas used Hudson throughout his lifetime as every census record and all other documentation shows him as Hudson. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Vicky Stozich Findlay, Ohio

If anyone can do this, or help me do this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and God bless!!! - Ben

    1. McCormick in West and South Shenenago

    3. I am searching for information on a William McCormick of South Shenango Township, Crawford County, PA. He was living there in 1830, 1840 and 1850. In 1850 he was age 77 and born in Ireland. He was living with a Sarah age 38 (a daughter?) Joseph 28 and Rosetta, 29 (son & wife). I believe he was the same William McCormick buried at the State Line Cemetery who died April 2, 1857. Buried with him were Joseph W. McCormick, Rosetta. The William in the cemetery had a wife named Mary. I descend from John M. McCormick (wife Jane Magee), and I suspect William was John's father. John's son was William H. McCormick who is also buried at State Line. I know John's father was born in Ireland. John and Jane had the following children: William (m. Nancy WADE), Andrew (m. Ellen DAVIS), Sarah (m.John WHITE) and Mary Jane (m. a KUDER). Is anyone else researching this family, or have knowledge of them? Any help is greatly appreciated. Linnea

    2. Hello again: In 1870, Pleasantville, Venango County, PA, we find Charles Hatch, age 24, b. PA, oil refiner, and his wife Anna, age 26, b. PA. This is, of course right "next door" to Crawford County. The age of Charles could be 25, but this is the census, and 24 is certainly in the ball park, and he's certainly living in the neighborhood! His wife's maiden name was Galpin. Find Asahel, Immer, Ludim, and Seth Root in census records of Westfield, Chautauqua Co, New York. According to family records Asahel was the father of Immer. Not sure where or if Ludim and Seth fit in. Asahel and Immer moved to Oil Creek Twp, Crawford Co, PA Again according to family records they are buried at Kerr Hill Cemetery, Oil Creek Twp, Crawford Co., PA. Have found the site of Immer Root's grave, but have not found Asahel's. Have also found a record of an Asahel Root being buried at Breedtown Cemetery, Venango Twp, Crawford Co., PA. This would be within a few miles of Kerr Hill Cemetery. The dates given in this record are 1769-1854. Ludim lived in Cussewago Twp, Crawford Co., PA for a while then he lived in Venango Twp, Crawford Co., PA. The 1860 census of Venango Twp shows Ludim as head of household with a son, Asahel, and daughter, Emily. Hope this info helps. If not, Thank you for checking into this for me. Dianne

Surnames: Deeter, Detrich, Deitrich, Hollenbeck, Hollabaugh Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TdB.2ACI/1836 Message Board Post: Greetings, I have been researching the Deeter families from Crawford & Venango counties. My paternal grandmother was a Deeter and her mother was a Hollenbeck. From 1850 through at least 1880 census there was a George Detrich (Detrix, Detrick, Deeter) living in Wayne Township, Crawford County. According to the death certificate of one of his sons, he was married to an Elizabeth Hollabough. George & Elizabeth had several children: John, George Walter, Susanna, Philip, Louisa, Lydia, Jane & Jacob that I know of. George Sr. was born about 1819 and Elizabeth about 1828. Supposedly they both died between the 1880 & 1900 census and are buried in Peters Cemetery in Canal Township, Venango County. Would anyone happen to have information with regards to this family that you are willing to share? I am looking for parents of both of them as I don't know either. Also looking for dates of death for both. I know that Philip married Louisa Peters. George married Mary Adaline Heffernan, John married Angeline Pressler, Susanna married Samuel Lubold & Jacob married Sarah Ellen Lubold. Also, need death dates for Susanna, Jacob & Philip and any information on Louisa, Lydia and Jane such as who they married, children, death dates, etc. I am a descendant of Daniel Deeter who died in 1894. I have proof that Daniel was a son of Leonard Deitrich who lived in Wayne Township near George Detrich. Leonard died in August 1865. Many researchers have these two families mixed up and I am trying to sort them out. I have suspicions that they are somehow related as many members of both families lived near each other from 1850's to present day and some even relocated to Canal Township, Venango County together and continue to live near each other to present. Other members of both families have even inter-married over the years. I look forward to hearing from anyone who has information they are willing to share with regards to these Deeter (Deitrich, Detrich) and Hollabaugh families found in this area. From 1850 onwards I find 2 distinct families. I assume that John (born about 1800) and George Hollibough (born about 1798) must have been brothers? Does anyone know where these families moved from? Other researchers even have said that some of my Joseph Hollenbeck family are from the same family as the Hollibaughs but I don't have any proof to substantiate this claim. Would welcome any related information. Kind regards, Michael Teed Jensen Beach, Florida
