    2. Good to see the exchanges on "Henry." I have been looking for an ELIZABETH HENRY, better known as "Aunt Betsy." She was born July 11, 1819 and died Sept 1896. She married Frederick Hickernell, date unknown. Have several photos of her, and she was a very attractive woman! There is a large Henry family in Harborcreek/Wesleyville and I think she could be related but not certain yet. She lived all her married life in the Saegertown area. Some old family photos have "Abe Henry's children" written on the back. Maybe we can make some connections here! Dolores Hickernell

    3. Hello Jan---Rose Wolford here I'll respond to you directly and tell you that Looker is NOT Lupher but will tell you that when I was in Meadville, Crawford Co, PA 2 summers ago, now, that I met, in person, with the gentleman LUPHER decendant that got, according to his own words, "roped into being the president of the Hatch Hill Cemetery in Guys Mills" We visited, at the Cemetery, for about 2 hrs and he was great to interact with and correspond with too. He gave me quite a bit of info and listing of the inhabitents of the Cemetery and I know Lupher was included; I'll share what info of that nature I have; however, my home office is a whirlwind, and I've got to "relocate" where I put the paperwork from my Crawford Co visit. If you're willing to be patient, I'll be glad to share when I locate the paperwork. I'll be rather busy this week; but perhaps can get to it next week, or so If that's OK let me know Rose Wolford ----- Original Message ----- From: "Janice A. 3. Hi - I don't know if this will get back to people who post on message boards but I will give it a shot because I am interested in this one. I have not been paying too much attention but the name HATCH caught my eye. I am a LUPHER descendant and some of my ancestors are buried in the Hatch Cemetery at Guy's Mills, which I understand has recently been restored. In particular I just wonder about "Bro. Henry Looker:" and wife "Louisa". My great great grandfather was Henry LUPHER 1814-1878 of Townville, and his wife was Lavinia (not Louisa) CROUCH. They would be the right age for this to be them and it is known in the family that Lavinia at least was a devout Baptist. They are both buried in the Hatch Cemetery at Guy's Mills. A couple of their grandchildren, that I know of, married Hatches and I wouldn't be surprised if there are other connections that I don't know of. If anyone else suspects that Looker is really Lupher, I would like to hear from them. TIA, Jan At 09:48 AM 8/30/2004, you wrote: >Forwarded from the message board. My g-g-g grandmother was Aurilla Fenton who married Jarvis Shipman. She was born somewhere in NY, 8 May 1811. Jarvis is on the 1850 Census but his first name was something other than Jarvis on that census. Although they were in Crawford County in 1850 they soon moved to WI. Their daughter Harriet married Erastus Hall. They lived in Rome Twp. and are buried in Centerville, Rome Twp. I do not know at this point who Aurilla's parents were. This may be just one additional piece to the Fenton puzzle.

Henry is the son of Matthew 1735 - 1804, b. Plymouth, MA & Rhoda UNKNOWN.. I can provide more off-line). Anyway, I am more interested in anything you might have on Harriet Looker. Our Henry Looker was born about 1818 (?) . His father was - we 're fairly sure - John Looker, who census records show as coming from NY. Herkimer County is a possibility based on census clues. John was in Crawford County by 1840 as well and probably came with his son. Help breaking thru the brick wall is appreciated. You may reply on or off-list.
