    3. Hi List, Would someone be willing to check the index for any listing for Covert/Cavert. I am especially looking for S. H., Mary, James, William, Thomas and John Covert. Also a James Smiley who marr a Nancy Covert in Crawford Co. I don't know how long S. H. and family lived in Crawford Co but they were on the tax records for 1850 and 1851 and in the 1850 census there. S. H. died in 1852. Thanks for any help. Rose

    3. Monica, Does the History of Crawford County go back further than 1885? Thought maybe the "1885" was a published date. 1. Re: [PACRAWFO] forward::: Guiles PARKER - Ambrose PARKER - Comfort unknown
    2. jim thalacker
    3. Looking forward to the 1850 & 1860 census returns for Spring Twp., the 10-15 yr old male in 1840 is obviously Trumble Parker and the 20-30 yr. old male is Giles Jr. as Trumble's age is given in 1850 as 26 and Giles Jr's age as 41, Giles Sr. is said to be 69. There is an error as to where he was born. The census states that he was born in Pennsylvania. However he was born in NY in the previous census. In the 1860 census, neither Giles Jr. nor Giles Sr. are listed, however, Clarssa, the wife of Giles Jr. is listed, as well as Trumble. Another census anomaly occurred in this one as Trumble has aged only 2 years to 28 whereas he should be 38. Can't always take the data on the census as accurate. I cannot verify that this Giles Parker is the son on Ambrose Parker, however it is most likely that he was a brother of Andrew Parker who was my ggg-grandfather and that Giles Sr. came to Crawford County about the same time that Andrew and his son, my ggg-grandfather Ichabod T. Parker migrated to Crawford Co. from Washington Co., NY; which was about 1825.

    3. Hello Ruth: I have the book entitled "Directory of Crawford County PA 1879-1880". In it on page 209 is listed J.J. "Hurst", no occupation listed, living on Franklin Street in Titusville. The spelling is off, but the street is correct. No bio listed for him though. Not much help, best of luck to you. Have you tried the Crawford County Historical Society? Abt 1850 in PA., according to the 1850 Pine Twp., census. He was in that census along with wife Hannah Case. I think Hannah died there. Peter then shows up in 1860 in Mich. So the years for them in Pine Twp., Crawford, Co., PA would be 1850ish to late 1859. I would like to know if Hannah died there. Or, if they had other children that died there. There are two other Case brothers that were there. A Pardon Case with his wife Jane. In 1850 they had a son John, b. in Ohio living there with them. A daughter Rosanna b. in 1850, in PA and a daughter Salina (Civilian) b. in 1852. By 1855 this family was in Allegan Co., MI. I know this because they had their daughter Rosilla there. They were living with Peter and Hannah in Pine Twp. Close by was John Case who m. a women, Harriet? from PA. They had a Benjamin, Isaac & Barbara between 1850 & 1854, all in PA. They were in the 1850 & 1860 census for Pine Twp., Crawford Co., PA. They were in MICH. by 1870. ANY info on these familles would be great. Thank you so much. Lynn Najduk Mills LynnsPL81@aol.com
