The 1800 Census for Woodbury Twp., Bedford Co. has him listed as being between the ages of 26 and 45. According to my source he had the following known children: Mary b. 1800, George, Jacob, Samuel, Elizabeth (possibly my connection, b. 1805), and Catherine. I'd love to hear from anyone with information on this family, no matter how small. My Elizabeth has been a mystery for a long time! Thank you!! Leigh Ann

    3. Deanna and anyone on the Crawford Co. list, Do you or your husband descend from the family of Barbara Baumgardner who was married to Henry Frey in York Co. in 1789 and they moved to Crawford Co., PA? I just got accepted into DAR through Henry Frey's father, Gottfried Frey. Others have been going in through him since about 1926 or so and I connected at that first generation. Since I sent in my application, I found a marriage record from York Co. Archives of Henry Frey (church record) marrying Barbara Einstein.... could she have been married before Henry? She was only about 17 when she married Henry Frey. There's a story that she was orphaned, or something to the effect, lived with another family and they abused her and she married Henry when she was young.... getting away from that family situation.. I need to find some Baumgartner wills to try to make her connection. If you have information about the Baumgartners, please e-mail me. I was doing research on another line in the Shenandoah and Rockingham, VA counties and the old histories talk about all the Baumgartners who came there after the Rev. War from PA-- if I remember right, even from York. I haven't had time to investigate this clue yet. I just read that last week.I think I found it on the Shenandoah USGenWeb page. I descend from Henry and Barbara Frey's oldest daughter, Catharina, who married Robert Graham (War of 1812). I just got into dau. of War of 1812 through him... thanks to the volunteer work of Kathy Brubaker!!! Anyone with information, please write and we'll share! 1. Re: [PACRAWFO-L] Birth Records
    2. Annette Lynch
    3. Linda - Just in case you didn't know, the Pennsylvania legislature mandated the keeping of birth, death and marriage records in 1852. Unfortunately, they discontinued the practice in 1854, probably at least partly because of lack of compliance. In Crawford County, the marriages and deaths are still in existence, although the birth records disappeared long ago. The Crawford County Genealogical Society published the marriages and deaths in one of the society journals several years ago. I would be happy to check those for anyone who is interested.
