I am frequently out of town and I unsubscribe this mail list so that the messages don't pile up for my husband to sort through. Is there a way to check all the messages posted while i am gone besides using the Archives search? For that service you have to type in a search word, but sometimes I read messages that are interesting about a subject I would not have know about. Would appreciate any input. Marilyn
Dear Crawford County Genealogist, Please note the message below. This site was requested by me in hopes to join with Crawford County genealogist around the world to collectively store and share their research. I ask that if you are a member of any genealogical society or historical society that currently does not have a home on the internet; consider joining with me to build a common site. If you have skills in the creation of graphics for the web or HTML please contact me to work out a format that will be user friendly. The goals for the site are simple. Reach everyone with all information available. Thanks for all the emails of support. To who it concerns: I'm so new to computers that I don't even recall exactly how I got on this particular e-mail genealogy group! Of course, I'm glad I did. I'm getting no where in attempting to unearth any roots connected with the surname Hyam(mine). Maybe some out there can give me some grass roots data or at least a few leads to put my search above the sod. Sure would appreciate it. Sincerely, Bill

I know this isn't exactly a genealogy question, but I'm hoping it might elicit a response from someone. I'm searching for some pictures of my house in Meadville, preferably interior ones. In 1989 I bought what is known as the David Mead house on Randolph St. He built the original one in 1797 and in 1906 it was purchased by the DeArment family (Channellock Tool fame) and they owned it until the early 1950s. I have one picture of the interior hallway which was in the sesquicentennial edition of the Meadville Tribune in 1938, but I haven't been able to locate anything else. I've tried the Crawford County Historical Society but they had no information at all. Just thought I'd throw this out to see if anybody might have something...you never know! "When in doubt, Twirl"
Can anyone help with information concerning Lewis R. Himebaugh and his brother William? They are sons of Joseph Himebaugh and his second wife, Susan Sherred from Venango Pa. Lewis was born in about 1852 and William in 1884..........they both went to the Midwest as adults.........and Lewis was said to be a furniture maker before leaving Pennsylvania. Lewis adopted my Grandmother, Jessie Geneva.(b 1884)....and was said to be actually related to her in some way. Thank you for any information that anyone might be able to share. Hi, Can I chip in my two cents worth on the MOSIER/MOSHER subject which has been raised on this list? I am interested in the Mosher spelling. I didn't realize there were any in the Crawford County area. I know that I have a Grissel Mosher who married James Sherman in 1722 in Dartmouth, Mass. and I have seen Quaker Moshers in Cayuga County, NY in the early 19th century. My interest in Mosher is connected to my great-grandfather's brother, Wesley R. Andrews 1837-1910. He lived in Meadville, Crawford Co., with his wife Rubie/Ruby Annie Robinson. Wesley was proprietor of the Meadville Tribune in the 1880's. Rubie's sister Caroline D. Robinson married a Mosher. They are all buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY along with other Moshers. They are: Merton S. Mosher 10/31/1998 (this cemetery date must be wrong) Edwin Mosher, 26 yrs. 12/26/1858 William McKnight Mosher 35 yrs 9/19/32 Edwin H. Mosher 78 yrs. 4/15/35 Jennie S. Mosher 84 yrs 2/12/51 Also buried in the same plot are a GRANATA, MELLEN & SHUFELDT. I don't know if these Moshers had a connection to Crawford County or not. I know that Wesley's brother, William Henry Andrews of Titusville, had, for a time, a business in New York City called The New York and London Chemical Company where an M. S. MOSHER was vice-president in the 1880's. Wesley also had a business in New York City at about that time where he was editor and proprietor of Andrew's American Queen and Andrew's Bazaar. I would be interested in hearing about other Moshers who might have lived in Crawford County or even Mosiers. - Ed Edward Coates Sinker - email: sinker@globalnet.co.uk Church Lea Bosbury Herefordshire HR8 1PX U. Hi Judy, I have UFT and use it almost exclusively. It has a mid level learning curve but once that is mastered you will find it unequaled in reports, record keeping etc. Another program that is preferred among a lot of serious researchers in The Master Genealogist. I use it for some area that are more detailed and transfer data as need be. So, I would say if you can afford to keep it...do so and spend the time it takes to learn the product. PACRAWFO Rooters, Is there an artistic person among us that can design a logo for our new web site? Preferably it should be transparent in either gif or jpg format. I have a good real warm iron in the fire for web space and the answer could come soon. It will cost a small money fee but well worth the sacrifice. For the time being, I will pick up the tab until we can get a sponsor.
