A sharp-eyed reader, Patrick Dwyer, found an error in The Brobst Chronicles which those of you who have a copy (hundreds of them out there) may wish to correct. In Chapter VIII, under "Intermarrriages", in the fifth paragraph, last sentence, it states: "His brother, "Jurg" Probst (1742), first married the oldest of the Stambach girls, Anna Catharina (1746), and later married her younger sister, Anna Maria (1764)." That sentence was written nearly five years ago, when I had relied on a report which I have since found to be in error. But I never corrected the text in the book to reflect the newer finding. His second wife wasn't Anna Maria Stambach, but Anna Maria Derr, daughter of Melchior Derr. If you have a copy of this, please delete the second part of that sentence, beginning with "and later married....." Thank you, Patrick, a sharp-eyed reader indeed! My apologies for the error.
