Eight children of James THORNTON (1761) and Sarah JACKSON are: Eli (ca. 1786), husband of Abigail ?; Mary (ca. 1786/90), wife of Isaiah BARTON; Michael (ca. 1789/06), husband of Catherine Biddleman; Hannah (ca. 1794/99), wife of Isaac Green; Elizabeth (ca. 1794/99); James (ca. 1799); Margaret (ca. 1800/04); Ephraim Jackson (ca. 1804/10). The only child of Eli that I have is Thomas J. (ca. 1826). His brother Michael had six children: Cemantha (ca. 1820/30); Eveline (ca. 1820/30); William M. K. (ca. 1826); Sarah (1830), wife of David PENMAN; Valentine (ca. 1832); James May (1834), husband of Anna Mary TATE James had a brother Edward (ca. 1765/74), who married Leah ERNEST in 1841. Another brother was Michael (ca. 1772/74), who had a son named Michael (ca. 1790/00). Their parents, Michael THORNTON and Jane BROWN, were married 30 Aug. 1758 in Philadelphia Swedes Church. Please note that this last is not my research, but I have seen James' will and it does list his eight children. Happy Hunting, John Penman Bloomsburg, PA
