Although there is evidence of James Thornton in Bloomsburg, Eli seems to have disappeared. I have nothing but a family bible to substantiate he even existed. His daughter moved west to Muscatine with the Err Thornton group. I believe Err and Eli were brothers, but have no proof. Does anyone have evidence, or colloborating evidence that Eli was a son of James from Bloomsburg? A probate? Land record? George says he had 8 kids. Were Eli, Err, and Bartlott 3 of them? I think Eli may have moved west to Lafayette County, Indiana and died there (where Err was the first white settler) but again, no proof. HELP! -- Dr. Diana J.
