    1. Re: What Was Columbia County in 1810?

    3. John . . . Columbia County wasn't in 1810! The area that is today Columbia and Montour was still in Northumberland County. Off my memory now, so don't hold me to dates unless you want me to look them up . . . Columbia was formed out of Northumberland in 1813 and included the area later to be Montour County. The first county seat for Columbia was in Danville and later moved to Bloomsburg. Montour County was formed out of Columbia in 1850 as a result of having lost the County Seat to Bloomsburg. When Montour was created, the new County's seat once again resided at Danville. Boundaries of the three counties I've mentioned were still changing after Montour was formed. Offhand I do not know when final resolution occurred. What place are you specifically looking for in 1810. I can check the county histories. I have all three. -- Kathleen woodside.1728@home.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "John W.
