My dad Earl Junior Rupert was born 7 May 1922 in Rock Glen, Luzerne county, Pennsylvania. His Father's name was Earl Eugene Rupert and that is far as I have manged to get on my father's line genealogically! I noticed that there is a Rupert, Pennsylvania in Columbia County. I would love to know the history of the town Rupert, Pa. Also, Rock Glen is on the Luzerne and Columbia Counties border. My father passed away when I was a child and I have been deprived of verbal family history stories. My name is Lisa Earlynn Rupert Garrett, I am new at genealogy and I am not a computer guru. Thanks for your help Lisa at LISAJAYG@MSN.COM

Recently, a postcard was offered for sale on E-bay. A last-minute collector of Catawissa memorabilia picked up the purchase. The postcard showed the old grist mill in Catawissa that had been built and operated by Christian Brobst. I was hoping to be able to use that picture in the book I'm writing about the Brobst Grist Mills of Pennsylvania. Perchance, is the buyer of that postcard in on this mailing list? And, perchance, if that buyer is willing, I'd like to borrow the postcard for a day to make a copy to put in the book. Please, buyer, contact me and see if we can work this out. Thank you. I have the Census records for Columbia Co. for 1830, 1870 and 1900. I would be willing to trade look-ups with anyone who may be able to do look-ups on the Columbia Co. newspaper microfilm. Please respond privately. Thank you, Anne Marie

Looking for church records in Columbia Co? Go to <www.colcohist-gensoc.org> which is the website of the Columbia Co. Historical & Genealogical Society in Bloomsburg. Cemeteries list is not yet available but there is a long list of church files. You might want to print out the research form and send it as directed to learn more about burial records. If you live within driving distance, do come and research at the Historical Soc. The schedule is plainly visible on the webssite. Loraine CCH&GS volunteer
Can anyone tell me where the Creveling Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery, Freewill U.B. Cemetery, and the Almedia Cemtery are located? Do any of these cemeteries have caretakers? Thank you.

It's good to be back working on my genealogy again. I've been off for a while. So please indulge me and let me ask again about my missing link. John Reeder (1761-1813) is often listed as a child of Charles Reeder. I have proven that this cannot be so. So, what line did he spring from? My inclination is that he is from a German line as his wife, Elizabeth Fisher, was German and came from New Jersey. I also think that a Samuel Reeder is involved some how with John. Samuel Reeder sold Elizabeth Fisher's father land in Pennsylvania (Northumberland County). Also, one of John's children is named Samuel. Well here is the information on John. Any leads would be appreciated. Pete Hubicki Charlotte, NC Descendants of JOHN REEDER Generation No. 1 1. JOHN1 REEDER was born November 29, 1761, and died May 1813 in Allegheny PA.
