Dear Karen, Perhaps you have already received an educated reply to your question. In case you haven't here's my 2 cents worth. That notation, sometimes abbreviated as Lev. Fa., as a legal term used in executions. Now, before you think someone lost their head, an execution in this instance has to do with a judgment--a lawsuit that involved money or property to satisfy a debt or obligation. My guess is that someone was owed money and a sheriff's sale of real estate followed. Assuming the courthouse retained their execution papers, they should still have a copy of the legal action. I am not an attorney, but I used to work at Allegheny County Office of Records Administration and we filed thousands of these execution documents and this is more or less the explanation we were given. The term, Lev. Fa., is considered obsolete. Hope this helps. Luanne Rishel Eisler

Hi, I am new to this list and am excited to see if anyone might know anything about those who I am researching. I am researching the LESNEFSKY family that may have come from Poland and settled in Bloomsburg, Pa. My great-grandfather Joseph? LESNEFSKY married my great-grandmother Mary (ANHELOWICH?-spelled in her obituary, ANGLEVITIC?- spelled in my grandmother's death certificate) who was of Russian origin. They had about 8 or 9 children and only my Uncle Lewis LESNEFSKY of Hamburg, Pa and my aunt Irene LESNEFSKY BOLINSKY of Williamstown, NJ are alive. I am told that my great-grandparents spit up or may have divorced but I don't have any proof other then that my great-grandmother was buried in Southern NJ where she died but her husband was not buried there. If someone has any info or any suggestion on where to look next I would be greatful. Thanks, Missy Zuber Atco, NJ keltic5548@aol.com
