    3. Norm, It's not unusual at all for a person with connections toYork and Berks County to end up in Clinton County. Almost all of my Clinton County ancestors hailed from the SE counties of PA. Sugar Valley was actually settled from the SWest (the SW of Centre County, that is) - early settlers came from Brush Valley, Centre County. Many were from Rebersburg and surrounding areas. What took them to Centre County? Well, it's hard for me to understand these trends in migration but I read that some of my ancestors were given land in Centre Co. for Rev. War service. Generally speaking, Clinton County research usually leads one to Centre County - particularly when one is researching the early settlers of Clinton County.
