I am looking for William and Beulah TEMPLETON who I believe were the parents of my gg grandmother Beulah Templeton Smith (1803-1882). Here is what I know. Linn mentions William and Beulah Templeton as the parents of Anna (1782-1870), who married William Fearon (p. 582, Clinton County). Anna is buried in the Hays-Fearon Cemetery, Beech Creek. My gg grandmother Beulah Templeton was married to Thomas Armstrong Smith in 1823 by Rev. Grier. Thomas Armstrong Smith was a son of Gideon Smith, a revolutionary war veteran, who is buried with his wife Elizabeth in the Hays-Fearon cemetery. The Smiths were communicants at the Pine Creek church and lived in White Deer (now Kelly Twp), Union County from about 1795-1814 before moving to Beech Creek. Thomas and Beulah Smith moved from Clinton County to Allamakee County Iowa in the 1850s. In the 1870 census Beulah's father is listed as foreign born, her mother is listed as native born. Who was William Templeton? Or was William Templeton the name of Beulah's father? A William Templeton is listed in the 1810 census for Bald Eagle township. In Linn's History of Centre County, William Templeton is listed as an inhabitant of Lower Bald Eagle Township in 1801 (p.39). Where did he go? And where did he come from? (I have found no evidence that Samuel Templeton of Union County (who was born in Ireland) had a daughter named Beulah). Any help or clues would be most appreciated. Thank you, Nancy Neuman, Lewisburg, Union County, PA.
