    2. DIED On Wednesday, July 19, of dropsy of the heart, Miss Jennie Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.D. L. Smith, aged 83 years. The afflicted one bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude, putting her trust in the Lord. She passed away peacefully and was perfectly conscious to the last. The funeral services last Friday were conducted by Revs. Haughawaut of Mill Hall and Nesbitt of this city. Many friends of deceased assembled at the family residence on Bellefonte Avenue to pay the last tribute of respect. They have our best wishes.

    3. Thanks for the obituaries! I am almost certain that J.D.L. (John David Lusk) Smith was the son of John Smith, who was a son of Gideon and Elizabeth Smith. His farmhouse is pictured in Maynard's history of Clinton Co. Rev. Grier of the Pine Creek Presby. church married John Smith and Betsy Lusk Nov. 15, 1821.
