Hello, Looking for family of BARTLEY, Alvin Wesley (b. @1859, d. 3/13/1927) and wife Abbie Maude Battner (b. @1859, d. 11/3/1934). Both born in PA. Resided in Lock Haven from at least 1880 until their deaths. I believe they are both buried in Dunnstown. Alvin & Abbie and three children, HARRY BARTLEY, (b. 8/2/1880, d. 9/14/9136), CHARLES BARTLEY, (b @ 3/1883), and THOMAS BARTLEY (b. @ 5/1892). I believe Alvin and/or Abbie came to Lock Haven from Centre County. It is probable that their marriage occurred in Centre County. No marriage is found in Clinton Co. CHARLES BARTLEY ultimately had two children, TORRENCE BARTLEY (b. 9/1903, Phila), and a daughter, name/date unknown. I understand Charles' wife died when the children were very young. TORRENCE is believed to have lived with one grandparent for a short period of time and was then placed in some sort of boys/foundling/orphan home. I believe this foundling home was in the Clinton/Centre/Lycoming area. He surfaced in Omaha, NE in his adulthood. Hoping someone will recognize a name (or the foundling home).
