Hi all, This e-mail went to me as listowner of the PACENTRE list, rather than the list, but I am passing it on as I think it is of great value to Central PA researchers. So many of our ancestral families (mine included) had branches that went to Illinois and points west, especially to Stephenson County and surrounding areas. I have recently learned that in one of the towns out in Northern Illinois or Southern Wisconsin, the two main streets are "Centre" and "Clinton" streets! It seems that the geography of that region is very similar to what is in Central PA, i.e. limestone-rich soil, we are on (approximately) the same latitude, etc., that the transition was an easy one. Anyway, here is the notice of a chat being held tonight. Perhaps we can all learn something from the conversations there!
