    3. Does anyone have an old map from about 1800-1820 of Clinton (then Lycoming) Co.? I'm trying to find where Blue Rock was located. Also, I've found references to Big Island as being the same as Great Island in some of the really old journals. Any ideas on that? Last, does anyone have any information about an inn that was located either on or near Great Island in 1807? It may have been owned by Sebastian Shade, Esq. or perhaps John McKinney who is listed as owning a tavern on his 150 acres, but I'm having trouble finding any information about any inn located there at all. 2. Dave If you send me your mailing address I will send you what I have! I am still trying to evaluate the info that I receive in the mail from a cousin who is taking someone else's work and word on our Jacob Kepler, Jr. I have some problems with the work and have not put it in my computer yet!. I think I have most of the info you are looking for on your Jacob, but I am thinking that my Jacob was just thrown in the pile of Keplers'. Trying to get some info that an Aunt has on the family, she is looking through some papers. Also, I have some copies from The History of Clinton and Centre Co. that I will send, some short bio's on two different Jacob's, (father and son?). Have what seems to be pretty complete work on someone's Keplers'. P.S. I am will be sending you about 20-30 pages of descendants, if our Jacob's are the same person this is quite bait of info. Also a couple of pages from the book I mentioned earlier. Karen Hageman Cale calephil@aol.com

    2. Braun Family
    3. I am researching a Wolfe family from PA. Unfortunately I have very little information. My ggrandfather is William David Wolfe dob 9-1-1857. According to his obituary he was born in Avies ( I am assuming they meant Avis) PA. His parents were German born but I have no names nor do I know when they came over. Wm married Pluma Case about 1885 and they had two children Josephine dob 12-1886 and Lloyd E 9-23-1892. I believe that both children were born in Illinois and I do not know where the marriage took place. I have many photos that of course cannot be identified but they are either Case or Wolfe family photos. Many of them are taken in PA most in Bellefonte PA. Any info would be helpful. 3. I am a Sugar Valley native, and I do believe that as long as I have lived, there has never been a BOONESVILLE in Logan Twp. there, but there is a BOONEVILLE, no S in the town's name. Please see that this is a correction on spelling.

    2. Some records say Booneville, some Boonesville, some even Boonville. All are the same place. The spelling seems to depend on who kept the record. Diana Mason

    1. Re: Information on Boonesville
    2. Hi Louise, According to Linn's History of Centre and Clinton Counties, page 645, "Booneville is situated on the main or Summerside road leading through the valley, about two and a half miles west of Logansville, on the north side of Fishing Creek. The land on which it is located originally belonged to the Wistar tract, and was purchased in 1834 by Dr. Samuel Strohecker, of Rebersburg, Centre County. Subsequently it was divided and sold to different individuals, that portion on which the village stands passing into the hands of John and Ralph Boone, by whom lots were first laid out and sold in 1866. Hence the name Booneville." This is listed on a page titled "Logan Township" in Clinton County. I believe the valley referred to is Sugar Valley. Page 642 of the same book has this about Logan Township: " What is now Logan Township was originally included in Miles Township, Centre County, and was organized previous to the formation of Clinton, in 1839." Page 167 has this about Jacob Boone: "Marsh Creek, from its confluence with the Bald Eagle (Creek) to Jacob Boone's saw-mill, about five miles, Jan. 16, 1813." This is in reference to Marsh Creek being declared a public highway. Page 48 lists "Jacob Boone (saw-mill)" in the inhabitants of Howard Township, Centre County in 1810. Page 49 lists "John Boone" as a Single Freeman in the same year in Howard Township. Hope this is of some help. Diana Mason
