Hi Seeking info on Catherine HEWS and Daniel RYNARD, both of Spring Twp., Centre Co., Pa. ~ they were married in 1831 and moved to Altoona, Pa. Catherine Renner was b. 1810 and died in 1902 and is buried in Fairview Cem. Altoona, Pa. in the Hughes family plot. Does anyone have these names in their family tree or have any info? Thanks! Jean Corio Tampa, Fl
Hi Folks! Thanks for the responses to my earlier post and query. I have some new information that may help. I found the family in the 1910 census for Leidy TWP. Henry Snyder, 58 years old born in Wisconsin of German born parents. Henry was married 21 years to Mary Myers who was 37. She and her parents were born in PA. She had 10 kids with 8 living at the time of the census. Children were: Fred 21 Frank 17 Forest 15 Theodore 9 Arlington (my cousin's grandfather) 5 Millie 3 and Victor 1 They do not seem to be related to another Fred Snyder (25) married to Ruby (24) with children Raymon and Delphia. Nearby is possibly his mother Lucinda 58, widowed and her son Raymon 31 a widower. All of these folks were born in PA of PA born parents. Now can anyone help? :) Mike Wennin Come Visit the Cameron County Genealogy Project! http://www.rootsweb.com/~pacamero

Hi George - A visit to the Ross Library in Lock Haven is certainly worth your time if you have Clinton County ancestors. In my opinion, it is the very best genealogical research library in this area. In all the years I have been doing genealogical research, I have never failed to find fascinating, sometimes "break-thru", information on my ancestors when visiting the Ross Library. It is a treasure! Best of luck, Gloria Harbach
George, And you need more? I think you answered yourself, in your email. The file of 10,000(prob more) is a reference file of newspaper clippings of tradgedies, births, weddings, funerals, plus the extensive photo collection, is also referenced within the files. There are early orphans court and marriage applications on microfilm. As well as the Cl Co Census, neighboring counties census. There are many rolls of newspapers on microfilm. In the Pennsylvania room many local history books, dating to the 1800's, donated genealogies, (1 1/2 stacks of them) If anyone lives on the moon, the trip may be too expensive, but anywhere else, it is not a waste of money. BTW, Lock Haven is only a half hour drive from Williamsport, Lycoming County(Brown Library), and a little over a half hour to either Penn State Univ Library(Pattee), or the historical library in Bellefonte, Centre County. Hi Norm, Thank you for the posting to this list! This fills in a line for a few researchers who subscribe to this list, including me. Please see below for the name of the man named LAMEY. I did not have his wifes maiden name, I do have a birth year for her, but I am unsure where I located the date, but maybe from a census. Slightly off the subject: Does anyone have any more info on the Lydia Smith mentioned below? I have a Lydia Smith (maiden name unknown) who married William Smith (b 1870-1875). Lydia & William had 3 children: Barney, Viola & Leroy. I think Lydia & William might have divorced or Lydia died at a fairly young age; but William lived in North Bend (near Renovo) with his 2nd wife, Annie, who he married in 1920. Any leads appreciated. Hi all, Interested in finding parents/siblings of Rev. Adam Haughenberry b. 1824, m. Elizabeth Shaffer of Grove Twp (then Clinton Co) in 1853, d. 1855. Adam & Elizabeth had 1 son-James Lorraine Haughenberry b. 1854, m. Kate Crosby 1877, d. 1902; 1 known daughter, Elizabeth French Haughenberry. I've seen the name spelled many different ways, one being Hockenberry. The couple may have moved to what was Clearfield Co during their brief marriage. Any connections out there? Sorry Steven, but that's all I have on Rev. Adam orJames Lorraine. Hello list, I will give a brief rundown of my Hockenberry lineage, to my gg-grandmother: Reinhard Hachenberger (c1683-aft 1750) Peter Hockenberry (c1718-1811) m/1 Anna Catharina ____ (c1717-c1763) Henry Hockenberry (c1740-1815) m/1 _____ Casper Hockenberry (c1761-c1866) m. Mary Greenwood (1754-c1858) Nehemiah Hockenberry (c1793-aft 1832) m. Elizabeth Matthews (c1793-?) Simon Hockenberry (1822-1905) m.Catharine Werts (1823-1890) Harry Nehemiah Hockenberry (1860-1925) m. Lydia Ann Chapman (1862-1940) Catherine E. Hockenberry (1887-1969) m. Miller Franklin Shawley (1873-1956) Miller & Catherine were my 2nd-great-grandparents. To date, no one knows what the "E." stood for. I am very curious about where your Hockenberry lines connect to this. If they are Clinton County, the only way I know of is through Simon Franklin Hockenberry (1882-1968), brother of my great-great-grandmother. Several of his family went down to the Lock Haven area. I look forward to hearing from both of you as to where you connect.
