Here it is folks! Thanks to Dee Zito's detective work, and my digging, here is a super find for the Summerson researchers. 1820 Lycoming Co. census, list only two sons of the original David Summerson & Ellen Simpson as having a daughter under the age of 10 yrs. One of which was Marmaduke, and his daughter was Lois, and she married Robert Bridgens Jr. The other son with a daughter under 10 was DAVID SUMMERSON JR. & Elizabeth Shaffer. 1820 Lycoming Co., Chapman: SUMMERSON, DAVID.....1male under 10, 1 male 16-26 .................................1 female under 10, 1 female 16-26 1830 Lycoming Co., Chapman (David has already been killed by falling tree in early 1840. David born Eng. 1793.) SUMMERSON, ELIZABETH......1 male 5-10, 1 male 10-15 .................................1 female 5-10, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 30-40 (total 5 in household) the two males would be Simpson 1818, John 1821. the three females would be Sarah 1824, MARY abt. 1818, & mother Elizabeth born abt 1791 PA. Right next door on 1830 census to Elizabeth Shaffer Summerson is the family of William Sterling on line #37 2 males 5-10, 1 male 10-15, 1male 20-30, 1 male 30-40 1 female under 5, 1 female 5-10, 1 female 20-30 (total 8 in household) Now Mary Summerson married George Sterling, son of William Sterling, according to Dee Zito, in 1840. 1840 census of Clinton Co. PA., Lumber twp. 1. John Shaffer (brother to Elizabeth Shaffer Summerson) 2 M. 5-10, 1 M. 10-15, 1 M. 50-60 1 F. 5-10, 1 F. 10-15, 1 F. 15-20, 1 F. 40-50 2. Wm. Sterling: 2 M. und 5, 1 M. 5-10, 1 M. 15-20, 1 M. 30-40, 1 M. 40-50 2 F. 5-10, 2 F. 20-30, 3. George Sterling: 1 M. 20-30 1 F. 20-30 4. Elizabeth Sommerson: 1 M. 15-20 1 F. 15-20, 1 F. 40-50 1880 PORTAGE CO., TOWN OF PLOVER, WI., pg. 97A 6/8 STERLING, George wht/male 66yrs farmer, can't write, PA., PA., PA. ..................., MARY wife, w/fem. 62yrs keeps house PA., ENG., PA. ..................., William, son, w/m. 27yrs, farm work WI., PA., PA. ..................., George, son, w/m. 24 yrs, farm work WI., PA., PA. ..................., Angeline M., daughter, w/f, 22yrs WI., PA., PA. I will try to go back down there tomorrow afternoon & check on 1900 WI. census. They were not listed in soundex of 1880, as they did not have children under 10 yrs. of age. Maybe Elizabeth left a will that mentions Mary, in the county that Lumber twp. was in after 1873. Elizabeth was alive on 15 Sep 1873, when the estate of Frederick Shaffer was settled, and she received one full child's share of the estate. I do not have her death date. Dianne Croak

I really appreciate the quick response. For some reason, I thought that the Disciple Church was just a local sect. I never knew it was this large. Regards, Georgek
George, I do not know of any central repository, but I would imagine if you wrote to the individual church they would be most helpful. Greetings, This will be the last post that I will make for a long time, as I am drained from doing this project. On my site I have compiled the following information in my "All Things Section" of my site located at: http://www.geocities.com/geojenk Be patient as I have a lot of great stuff packed on the pages till I can tweak them for faster loading. Detailed History of McKeesport, Pa Genealogy and Biographies of Early McKeesporters (These are very detailed genealogical biographies on close to 400 individuals that immigrated to McKeesport from other countries/states.) Pictures and Biographies of Prominent Early McKeesporters (Part of above) Western Pennsylvania Family Group Genealogies (Genealogical Biographies on close to 400 family groups that lived in Western Pa. Includes families country of origin where applicable) Biographies of Service Men (WWI) (Men and women who served in WWI from the W. Pa. Area. Detailed info concerning their service record and also a lot of their pictures.) Pictures of Life in 1900s - Western Pa. (Close to 60 pictures showing how life was in W. Pa. during the beginning of the 1900s. There are some people on these pics that may be reconizable. Some immigrant group pics.) Please remember these sources of info are not related to my family research efforts. I have done this project with the intention of sharing the info. I get no financial gain from this effort as my site sells absolutely nothing. Good Luck!!! Which county was Lumber twp. in 1840?
Diane, According to "History of Cameron County," Curtis Media Corp. 1991, pg 3: "Lumber township was an original township which was formed while a part of Lycoming County and named because of its forests. It was included in Clinton County when the latter was formed in 1839. There wasn't any change made in the township during the twenty-one years it was a part of Clinton County. When Cameron County was formed in 1860, Lumber township was included within its boundaries." Lumber township has increased in size since it became part of Cameron County. A portion of Shippen and of Portage townships were annexed in 1867 and 1869, respectively. Romayne, If she was born between 1820 and 1830, the legal records would be in Lycoming County, as Clinton COunty was formed in 1839. The 1850 census would show the Dillon(Clinton Co) but the 1820 and 1830(Lycoming Co)only list the male {Lloyd} and wife and children would be a slash in their age and sex catagory. I desperately need some help and advise. I am looking for information on Priscilla Lloyd born in Clinton Co. Pa around 1820 to 1830. She had a child in 1850 so I'm guessing a birth date. She married William J Dillon born in Green Co. Pa. Is there any way that I can search records for that era. I need to know parents and maybe a marriage date. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks, Romayne

Barb, Wish I could help. The only connection I have to the Black line is my 3g-grandmother, Anna Black, wife of Paul Shade. I just haven't done anything on that line at all. When I do get around to that name, I'll be sure and post it to the list. I did check my various books for surnames KYLE, CARTER and BLACK. Nothing matches. The following was in Fisher's book, "Wills of Northumberland Co." and may or may not help. John Black, deceased, will probated September 4, 1790 His heirs were: Brothers - David, who had John, Anna and Hannah - James, who had David and Jean - William Sister - Susan in Ireland Nephew - James of Lewisburg, PA Good luck, Cathy ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Both are buried in Elimsport Cemetery I know KYLEs (Sarah Jane Cater and Samuel) lived in Milton, PA (Union Co.). Do you have any BLACK info? Barb
