    1. Weaver/Rowe
    2. Diehl
    3. Hi Listers, Does anyone know anything about Thomas Weaver (or S. Tom Weaver) of Sugar Valley or his wife Frances Jennie Rowe whom he married on 1/20/1876? He appeared in the 1880 census, age 30, with Frances J., age 22, Mervin, age 3, Anna, age 2, and Elmeda, 3/12. There is a Thomas Weaver buried at Tylersville b. 9/14/1835 d. 5/15/1907. But that can't be him as the Thomas I'm looking for was born ca 1850. Apparently there was a Thomas Weaver, s/o John Weaver and Susannah Brungard who married a Lamey. Am I getting these two Thomas Weaver's confused? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Joyce Diehl

    1. Re: John WILKINSON - Hanna DAVID
    2. Carolyn, I am the director of the Clinton County Genealogical Society's cemetery project, and as such I have some inscriptions from a little cemetery in Beech Creek Township, Clinton County that may be of use to you. This cemetery is in an extremely overgrown and deteriorated condition, with most of the stones broken and fallen over. It has been recorded several times: by Adella Fink Spangler in June of 1930; by Vivian J. Welch in June 1982; and by myself and Jeanne Dunkle about 1996 or 1997. The name of this family plot is the David Cemetery. The inscribed stones located therein in my record are as follows: "Mary, wife of William Magee, born Aug. 14, 1813, died Jan. 4, 1872, aged 58 years, 5 months, and 20 days." "Robert Liggett, born Jan. 10, 1807, died Mar. 26, 1873, aged 66 years, 2 months, and 16 days." [There is a flag on this grave.] "Elmira, wife of Rob't Liggett, died April 5, 1853, aged 37 years, 10 months, and 6 days. Gibson, L. H." "Thomas Jefferson, son of James and Ellen Davids, born Mar. 14, 1859, died Jan. [other recordings give May, which is more likely correct] 15, 1860, aged 1 year, 2 months and 1 day." [There is a footstone T. J. D.] "Ellen, wife of James Davids, born Mar. 1 [Mar. 11 per other records], 1820, died ____ [Aug, per other records] 28, 1882, [aged 62 years, 5 months and 27 days, per other records.]" [There is a fotostone E. D.] "Joseph Carpenter, son of James and Ellen Davids, born Feb. 21, 1847, died Aug. 4, 1866, aged 18 years, 5 months, and 11 days." "Mary Emily, daughter of James and Ellen David, born Aug. 18, 1852, died April 30, 1872, aged 19 years, 8 months and 12 days." "Independence Virginia, daughter of James and Ellen David, born July 10, 1850, died April 14, 1871, aged 20 years, 9 months and 14 days." ==== Also said to be buried in this plot is the father of the family, James David, born 1810, died 1892. No stone has been located for him. Other stones which existed in this plot and were not located by myself and Jeanne Dunkle in our recording are as follows: "Margaret Jane David, born Oct. 16, 1842, died May 2, 1870, aged 33 years, 6 months and 10 days." "William Isaac FInch, son of James and Ella David, born Aug. 6, 1845, died Jan. 31, 1851." Benjamin Franklin Ligget, killed in the Spanish American War (1898), is said to be buried here in an unmarked grave. Daniel David, a Revolutionary soldier, is also said to be interred here. Justin Justin Kirk Houser Genealogist/Researcher of Central PA and Beyond Main Lines: Houser, Breon, Shawley, Ranio (and others) President, BAHS Class of 2003 Listowner, PACENTRE-L@Rootsweb.com Historian, Schürch Association of North America (specialty Central PA lines) Member, Valley View United Methodist Church "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature"

    3. There is a site that has old pictures on the net, and the man should really be commended for his work of posting old photos on the net to try to reunite them with their proper families. He has old photos from everywhere. I noticed a Dan Brower Jr. & a Minnie Brower that had Lock Haven PA. on it if a family member is out there & is interested. I did not go through all the pictures, but he has over 1000, and I only had time to go through the "B"s. webpage: http://fourkings.freeyellow.com/Page3.html

    3. A North Bend area woman, now deceased, Lola Wallace, was related into the Swanson family. Most of her research papers are in 15 to 20 boxes archived at Penn State University, Pattee Library, Paterno Wing, rare books and manuscripts. Lola was a Welch and somehow the Welch's and Swansons tie together. Lola did a lot of local history work, and helped many enter the DAR. I am not sure where the Swansons ended up, but she had a lot of relatives who moved to Sunville, Venango County. As well with good tidings, I would like everyone on the list to know, at my request, my son purchased Chuck Bush's CD on the Commemorative Biographical Record for me. I am delighted with this production. It has been pain-stakenly duplicated from the original. There are two sets of page numbers, one for the cd and when you print a bio, you print it with the actual page number. I own one of the rare copies of this book, as well as an index. I have compared the bio's with the book. The index is great, but the surname-any word searching is the best part! I urge anyone with Clinton and surrounding county connections to give this CD a try. His website is http://www.bushbooks.com . > Other books have been coverted to cd also, and if done as well as this one, well worth the purchase.
