"Roots in the Boot," an Italian Genealogy and Heritage Conference, is only two weeks away! There is still time to register! Walk-in registrations are welcome, but registrants before July 10 are assured a syllabus containing all of the handouts. The conference will be held on the University of Pittsburgh campus in Pittsburgh, PA on 14-15 July 2006. The exciting program has Dr. John Philip Colletta as the featured speaker. Additional speakers include June DeLalio, CG; Paola Manfredi, AG; Marie Varrelman Melchiori, CG, CGL; Elissa Scalise Powell, CG; Keith Rose, AG; and Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak. Lecture topics include DNA, Italian research and heritage, how to do genealogy, how to access records (including Catholic Church records), preserving family heirlooms, writing a family history, and evaluating sources on the Internet.
