Alan, My father's people were called named "Clouner" or "Clowner". I suspect the name might originally have been "Glauner", but have no real proof, other than when pronounced to census tajers, it sounded like Clowner. The farthest back I can get with this name is in the 1830 census, Earl Township, Lancaster County~~Jacob Clouner/Clowner. They were apparently german, but called themselves Pennsylvania Dutch.
