Peggy, I believe that Joseph Bloom was the son of William T. Bloom ( s/o Abram Bloom& Nancy Freeman, s/o Herbert Bloom & Anna Case) and Margaret A. Carson. He married Sarah Jane 'Jennie' Bloom, d/o William A. Bloom (s/o Abraham Bloom & Margaret Caldwell) & Lydia Reams. Jennie was previously married to a William I. Cox. I don't know what happened to him. In Albert Y Straw's incredible effort "Some Genealogies and Family Records, circa 1931, I find: Page 186 and again on page 188: "Jennie, [daughter of William A. Bloom and Lydia Reams], married 1st Joseph Bloom, 2nd Wm. I./J. Cox" Perhaps the Joseph Bloom that was killed in 1880 was this Joseph Bloom? I find a daughter age 30, Sarah J Bloom, widow, living at home with William and Lydia Reams BLOOM in the 1880 census. There is also a mystery grandson named Augustus Bloom, age 1.
