    3. Hi cousins, Looks like ya'll pretty well covered many of the the Josephs. The son of Hezekiah was Joseph Clark Bloom (my grandfather) who, like Showers Bloom, normally went by his middle name. Hezekiah's wife was Mary Ellen 'Ellie' Moore. Hezekiah died in 1886 at age 44 and his widow married a widower, George L. Bauman. I also have two Joseph Showers Blooms: one born in 1855 to John I. Bloom & Mary Margaret Frantz who married Elizabeth McKendrick; the other born in 1857 to Samuel Bloom & Elizabeth Aughenbaugh who married Margaret Lavina Lord. Harvey Bloom married Fannie Leisher/Lesher. Their son must have been Joseph Gordon Bloom; I had only one child for them: Gordon, b:4/13/1883. George Apgar Bloom married twice, Although he didn't marry Rebecca Irwin until 1860, I belive they began having children within a couple years of Mahalda's death in 1850. Their son Joseph, b: 1857 never married. So who was struck with the log???? 3. Marriage Records of Clearfield County, PA Prior to Oct 1885, apparently has two entries for the same couple that are not identical: page 14: Bloom, Joseph S. & Elizabeth McHenry Sept 7, 1879 also page 104. page 15: Bloom, Showers & Elizabeth McKendrick Sept 7, 1879 also page 105. In both Joseph Showers's and Elizabeth's obituaries the date of Sept 7, 1879 is given as their marriage date; and William McHenry and Nancy Jane Sloppy are given as Elizabeth's parents. I don't find any evidence of a prior marriage for Elizabeth, I think it is simply a confusion somewhere in the records and sources, the names are somewhat similar. -----Original Message----- From: paclearf-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:paclearf-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Larry Bloom Sent: Tuesday, January 02, 2007 8:15 PM To: paclearf@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PACLEARF] Joseph Bloom Hi cousins, Looks like ya'll pretty well covered many of the the Josephs. 3. Just one more comment regarding the confusion between these Josephs. I traced Joseph Bloom, born 11 July 1856 or 1857, son of Samuel R. and Elizabeth Aughenbauch/baugh BLOOM through the census and never saw him named Showers. In 1900 it was Joseph S or I. And his marriage to Margaret Lavina LORD in about 1889 [in 1900 they had been married 10 years; in 1910 their marriage was of 21 years - and listed as the first marriage for both Joseph and Margaret] was after the birth of several of her children. Barbara, in your posting from Monday, you list Armita May Bloom b. Aug 7, 1882; James Charles Bloom born Dec 17, 1884 and Orval Gilbert Bloom, born Sept. 8, 1888. In George W. Robbins's obit I find "He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Arminta LORD, in 1944." However, there is a World War I draft registration card for James Charles BLOOM, age 34, born Dec. 18, 1884, living in Madera, a clerk for Liberty Trading Company, nearest relative: Christine Bloom. He was of medium height, medium build, had blue eyes and light hair. He signed the card on Sept. 12, 1918. In the 1900 census, only four children are in the household: Oral G. born Sept 1889, Thomas born July 1892, Russell born Oct. 1894 and Daniel born Sept. 1896, but mother Margaret is given 6 children, all surviving. In 1910 she has had 8 children, all surviving, with the addition of Helen and Cecil to her household. I don't know if all this makes any difference in 2007, but I think Arminta and James Charles were born before Margaret LORD married Joseph BLOOM, possibly Oral/Orval as well, depending on whether you like 1888 or 1889 as his birth year. The boys used BLOOM as their surname, while Arminta stayed LORD. Can anyone find Arminta or James Charles in the 1900 census? I would be curious to see who they were living with. Arminta could have been married, but it seems her husband-to-be is still living at home, right next door to Margaret and Joseph BLOOM. (And George was, it seems, George W., his father was Lewis) Enough, we all know how easily the mistakes can magnify while the corrections go uncirculated. Jocelynn An exciting start to 2007, but the holiday is now officially over. -----

    3. I think the book Marriage Records of Clearfield County" may have duplicated some records and attached the wrong names. I have just noticed that Joseph m. th Elizabeth McHenry and Showers m. Elizabeth McKendrick were married on the same day (9/7/1879). So, is anyone out there related to Elizabeth McHenry?. If so, who did she marry? Also, I still haven't gotten Joseph Bloom m. Jane Bloom Oct 1, 1876 attached to parents. I appreciate all the help you all have given me so far on the Joseph Blooms.
