Hi List members, Good morning For several days now I have been working on what is a Jimmy mines. I still have no clue ( smile ) The child was born in Houtzdale ( Jimmy mines ) Clearfield Co Pa- that is all I know. I thought for sure, someone in the area must know what this is, or maybe someone has a history book with this information...Now, I am wondering and so have some of you if it was just a small mining company in the area. But there is nothing suggestion this fact that indeed a jimmy mines, was a small or cluster of small mines in the area. I took one suggestion and went on to www.google.com there are 169 hits and it seems many if not most of all of the hits are regarding a game called jimmy mines. I have tried the Encyclopedia Britannica and the Merriam - Webster dictionary and nothing at all. Which takes me back to my first point, that this may just be a small mining companies name. I think someone form the list had this idea as well. In fact , if you sent a lead, a suggestion, I want you all to know I followed up on each and everyone of your ideas and suggestions. Keep those thoughts coming... I want to thank you all for working on this question for me and I am still open to any suggestions and leads. I am not one to let go of something until I find the answer, but this may be the first time I throw my hands in the air and say I give... it just has be completely stumped.
