Just some background information for everyone regarding Heritage Quest. Remember the Allen County Library in Indiana that I have raved about for years? They designed PERSI. What is PERSI? It is a very large portion of the information at the Allen County Library. They tried to run a web site with the information they had collected in the file PERSI but it got a bit out of hand. I guess they never realized how HUGE this thing would be so........they sold the PERSI rights to Heritage Quest as well as some of their other databases. This way they don't have to deal with it and can concentrate on continueing to build their huge genealogical database. If you haven't heard of Allen County Library, you are really missing it. To me, it is the second only to Utah. On a web site called "The Friends of Allen County Library" they are trying to download the surname list from their Library files. Every book in the library can be name searched by computer, plus much, much more. So, if you have the chance and are in the area stop on by. You won't regret it. By the way, I'm living in PA now so can't visit for others. I'm just bidding my time until I get to go out there again.
