Bruce H. Nixon Bruce H. Nixon, 62 of Robinson, died Friday Nov. 1, 1985 at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. He was born June 22, 1923 in Robinson, a son of the late Armstrong H. and Clara Josie (Bowers) Nixon. He was retired from Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark A., who died in July 1985; two brothers, Lawrence and Robert; and a sister, Stella Swanberg. He is survived by his wife, Cara Nome (Stiffey) Nixon; two daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Terry L. ) Hill of Marion Center and Melissa J. (Mrs. Richard) McCleary of Germany; three sons, Bruce C. of Robinson; Gregory W. of New Florence; and Wade J. of North Charleston, S. C.; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Roby) Nixon of Holewood; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Clyde of Bolivar; and three sisters, Mary Shaftic of Robinson; Sarah Shaftic of New Florence; and Grace McClain of Robinson. Funeral services were held Monday at the Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, with the Rev. Kenneth Thompson officiating. Burial was in Germany Lutheran Cemetery. Military graveside rite was held by local military organizations. ======================================================== Cara Nome Nixon Cara Nome Nixon 65 of Robinson died Friday Oct. 24, 1997 at home.She was born July 11, 1932 in Fairfield Twp., a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Sadie Bess (Krouse) Stiffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce H. Nixon; and a son, Mark Allen Nixon. She is survived by five children, Elizabeth Jean (Mrs. Terry) Hill of Home, Pa.; Bruce C. Nixon and his wife, LuAnn, of Robinson; Gregory W. Nixon and his wife, Trudy, of Armagh; Wade J. Nixon and his wife, Cynthia, of Robinson; Melissa Jane McCleary of Clymer; 11 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; five brothers, Thomas Joseph Stiffey of New Florence RD 1; Terry Stiffey of Bolivar RD1; Dennis Stiffey of New Florence; James Aaron Stiffey and Darrel Clayton Stiffey, both of Bolivar RD 1; and a sister, Sadie McElwee of Luzernemines. Brother of Elizabeth J., married to Terry Hill, Marion Center, Bruce E., married to former LuAnn Shearer, Robinson; Gregory, married to former Trudy Howard, New Florence; Wade James, South Carolina; and Melissa, wife of Richard McCleary, Germany. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Kenneth E. Thompson. Interment, Germany Lutheran Cemetery.
