Thank you for your response. I think you speak of the PHMC site. The problem is that the marker of which I speak is privately erected. I have 'googled' for it without success. I have a small photo (limited pixel) of it. "CROSS SYMBOL" SITE OF ST. PETERS EVANGELIC LUTHERAN CHURCH 1750-1885 ST. PETERS WAS THE FIRST CHURCH WEST OF THE ALLEGHENIES AND THE THIRD LUTHERAN CHURCH IN PENNSYLVANIA. ITS ORIGINAL MEMBERS WERE PIONEERS WHO, HAVING SUFFERED RELIGIOUS PERSECUTIONS, HAD COME FROM THE PALATINATE IN GERMANY TO PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA SEPTEMBER 5, 1738, THENCE TO AND AROUND THE HORSESHOE BOTTOMS ON NEW RIVER. THIS MONUMENT ERECTED IN 1945 IS IN MEMORY OF THESE STURDY GOD-FEARING PIONEERS. RICHARD HAEVEN SAMUEL PEPPER PHILLIP HARLESS AUGUSTINE PRICE ADAM HARMAN DANIEL PRICE JACOB HARMAN HENRY PRICE VALENTINE HARMAN MICHAEL PRICE JACOB HARNBERGER JACOB SHELL ISRAEL LAURTON ADAM WALL COMMITTEE ULYSSES S. A. HEAVENER D. D. MRS. LOUISE PRICE MOFFATT (sic: carved in stone.) Anyone know it? This is the only Pennsylvania list I am on but I thought since it is a Pennsylvania list someone might recognize it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sue Renkert" <suerenkert@gci.net> To: <paclearf@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2007 1:12 PM Subject: Re: [PACLEARF] St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church Marker >I once came across a website about all of the Pennsylvania historical > markers. Looking at the photo again it may say that the church was the third Lutheran Church in Virginia (West Virginia?). That part of the photo is smudged. In that case, the Harman's might also be my ancestors since my fifth great grandparents were Jesse CARTER and Susanna HARMON (first Hermann, then Harman, then Harmon). Jesse's grandfather Levi came to WV (what became) from Wales and family later relocated to Greene County, TN and then S.E. MO (quad county area). Sorry if there was confusion; the Philadelphia threw me off. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Byron D.
