New to list. Searching for information on my 2x great grandfather, John M. JORDAN, who was born in Clearfield Co. in 1823. His parents were Thomas and Mary JORDAN. The family later moved to Mercer Co. and then on to Cass Co. MO. Does anyone on the list recognize these folk? Judy in Iowa
Hi, I'm a Jordan descendent and collect census records even when the family or branch has little to do with mine (yet). CORRECTION! The 1870 census in my first message is actually the 1880 and I do have a connection, sort of. Terrissa Jordan is married to Martin Hoover Bloom (I'm a Bloom descendent, too). So, if you have verification that John M. was the son of Thomas, I love to know your sources. Peggy and Judy: I have John M JORDAN as the son of Samuel and Nancy (PATTERSON) JORDAN and John's wife as Jane HEGARTY. If this is incorrect or perhaps a different JORDAN family, help! lol Jacquelyn ----- Original Message ----- From: "DeHoog" <wletto@charter.net> To: <PACLEARF-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 02, 2005 10:49 PM Subject: RE: [Clearfield] JORDAN - Clearfield Co. 1823 > CORRECTION! Jacquelyn Judy wrote back and indicated that my (our) John M. Jordan was not hers. However, thank you for giving me the name of the parents. My next question is from what family does this Jordan descend? I'm a descendent of Mark Jordan and Eva Bloom Jordan; however, Mark had, at least, one brother Frederick who had, at least, three sons, John, Frederick, Jr., and Henry. Judy, if you are still following this string, I just had an epiphany. Marks brother Fredericks sons John and Frederick, Jr. each named a son John. I show John Jordan bn 1808 dd 3/23/1890 Pennsylvania, which I realize doesn't match your Missouri, but I'm throwing it out there anyway. Also, Frederick, Jrs. son John was born 10/10/1799 in Pennsylvania. I have no other info.
