Sharon: Next time you get to visit this elderly cousin, you may want to take a tape recorder and ask her permission if you may tape your "interview" with her. Just ask a few key questions, and you (and she) may be surprised at how lengthy the interview may turn out to be! I did this with my Mom a few times when she wanted to reminisce and it really helped not having to scribble undecipherable things.
