Christmas Greetings to Everyone, You know, Renee's story of her Christmas trip back to Clearfield stirred up some interesting memories for me and even though my Dad's family originates in Clearfield, I've never been there. But do you know that every time our family (just *two* kids and Mom and Dad went on a trip, I also had the back floorboards! And aside from the 'hump' in the middle, I have to say that was a pretty comfy place for a little kid on her Grandma's homemade quilts, playing with her toy horses). And that salad! My goodness! I knew it was traditional in *our* family and always wondered why my Mom fussed so at being asked to make it, year after year. But I remember now; it was my Dad's very favorite! He always told us girls that it had been a favorite of his Dad's and his Granddad's and (he had been told) especially of his GREAT Granddad's, who had been born and raised in Becaria, Clearfield County, PA!
