Why don't you try The Progress? Com they are still in business and may have files. The Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw in Clearfield has a nice genealogy section and helpful people. Also Clearfield has a historical society which is accessible by e-mail. I do not know what they charge for lookups, but they do say they have people who will do them. Another way is to contact the Centre County Historical Society in Bellefonte, Pa. Philipsburg is actually in both counties. If your people were into Clearfield County before 1830 or so chances are good that they lived in Centre County for a time and had relatives there.
