    1. Pennsylvania Obits 1891-1904 Online, Searchable
    2. From Family Tree Magazine Email Update 04-27-2006: --- Pennsylvania's state library has posted microfilmed images of scrapbooks containing newspaper obituaries published between Oct. 16, 1891, and March 3, 1904. Search for your ancestor's obituary at http://205.247.101.31:2005/ cdm4/search.php (note the search page doesn't give you much clue where you are). At the bottom of the page, unclick everything except State Library of Pennsylvania--Genealogy. Type your keywords (such as a name or place) in the All of the Words field and click Search. If you're not sure whether Great-grandma would be listed under her maiden or married name, enter both surnames in the Any of the Words field and type her first name in the All of the Words field. The Proximity tab lets you type two search terms and specify the number of words apart they can occur, letting you net obituaries containing variations such as john smith; john charles smith; and smith, john c. Still can't find the deceased? Try searching for people who might be listed as survivors. Results show thumbnails of each matching obituary, its page number in the original scrapbook and surnames of everyone whose obituaries appear on that page. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge the page; use the icons at the top to zoom in and navigate around the article. --- William Cecil Townsend Vienna, VA Native of South Fork, PA Researching: Townsend of Cambria and Clearfield Counties Lee of Cambria, Clearfield and Centre

    1. My Pennsylvania Genealogy Forums
    2. Sherry
    3. Good morning! I don't know how many of you on these mailing lists had signed up for my genealogy forums on Keystone Crossroads, but that particular board will be going offline on May 31, 2006. The owner/programmer of the myzf boards is discontinuing his support in order to focus his attention on bigger projects, namely his ever-growing website Daves Garden. I already have another Pennsylvania Genealogy board up and online at http://www.keystonecrossroads.com/phpBB/ You will need to re-sign up to use this one, as I have decided not to transfer the user names and passwords from the myzf site. There is no charge to use this board, and there is no advertising. If you have any problems signing up, let me know. I'm still learning the ins and outs of this board, but I'll do my best! My best, Sherry Jesberger Visit Keystone Crossroads www.keystonecrossroads.com Featuring Pennsylvania Genealogy & Gardening

    1. (no subject)
    2. Some of the Surnames I am looking into are Hannold, Eberly, Nichols, Lockwood who all have ties to the Jefferson and Clearfield Counties and most of eastern Pennsylvania. Denice Lockwood b.07 Apr 1901 d. 25 May 1977(I have a death notice from the funeral given to me by her Daughter Lois Nichols Eberly) Her parents were Fremont Lockwood b. c1857 and Clara Lindenmuth b. c 1870. I was wondering if any of you have any info on the Hannold's from the Brookville DuBois area. My husband's father Ken Eberly Sr is the Son of Richard Eberly and Emma Hannold b. 1909 in Illinois. They were divorced and she moved to Dubois and married Roy Bell. Emma Hannold was the daughter of Amos and Eva Hannold. Amos was born in Cambridge Springs PA according to his obit Jul 1948 in the Dixion Evening Telegraph and his married daughters were all living in DuBois at that time. One was married to Ralph Rucker I believe. Emma's (Hannold) Eberly Bell brother Alvin Hannold b. 1919 married Clara Nichols b. 1920 who was also the daughter of Dencie (Lockwood) and William Nichols. This is where every thing get a little confusing. Yes my husband's aunt on his mother's side married the brother of his Grandmother on his father side. Anyway to the point. I have hit a brick wall with Amos Hannold. Children were Mary b. 1907, Emma b. 1909, Edith b. 1914 and Alvin b. 1919. I think Mary was married to Ralph Rucker. Alvin married Clara Nichols and they lived in DuBois (Sandy township). She still lives there. Their son Alvin b. 1940 married Sandy Tracy and he died in 1999. They lived in Niagara Falls. If you have any info or know someone who may please let me know. It would be a big help. Thank you Debby Eberly
