Linda: Thank you for responding. Everyone has been very helpful back there in Pennsylvania. The names are Lottie Grady, b 1893 at "Three Runs" ,PA, daughter of Dennis Grady and Kathryn "Katie" Conaway. I'm getting the idea of what Three Runs was/is, but I'm still not sure what a "run" is. Thanks again for your help. Tim Nelson in Crescent City, California ---- "Linda S. Matthews" <genrsch@verizon.net> wrote: > Tim. Three Runs is or was in Karthaus Township, Clearfield County. I believe that it was the historical name for what is now Pottersdale. Maybe someone else on the list can verify this. INDIANA WEEKLY MESSENGER, Indiana, PA Wednesday, November 20, 1912 Pg. 8 Killed on the Railroad. Benjamin Diehl, an aged resident of Curry Run, was killed by a freight train on Monday afternoon of last week while crossing the tracks. Mr. Diehl carried the mail to and from the trains at that place and it was while he was engaged in his daily duties that he met his death. It is supposed that the train was slowly approaching the unfortunate man and he being slightly hard of hearing was unable to detect the danger in which he was. Mrs. W. E. Tate of Clymer, is a daughter of the deceased. Word reached the Tate home shortly after the accident. The remains were interred the following Wednesday. I think that I may have gone to school with her eldest children, but am not sure. Did any of them attend Curwensville Joint High School in the 1960s? Also I remember them as very poor in a day when most of the county was poor. Maybe I am wrong. Jean Your recollections are correct. There were 11 children, 7 are alive today. Aunt Pris was married to my mom's (Eleanor Norris Whitaker) brother, William (Uncle Bill) Norris. They never seemed to have any money, but had the necessities, at least. However they all were always very happy, willing to help at any time, and willing to share what they did have. My 23y old has fond memories of going blueberry picking with Uncle Bill. Hugs, and thanks! Doreen

Hope that you got the Obit I sent. I talked to my sister Nancy today and she confirmed the family is whom I thought it was. She was in school with Marjorie who died young of ovarian cancer and she did have a couple of dates with Richard. She also knew John A. and that he died while in the military service. Jean
