    3. Hello, Sorry, but Berry is not listed in the index of this book. However, this book is more a general history of PA as opposed to any real family info. There are a fair number of surnames though and I hope to have the index online soon. 1. Re: [PACLEARF] Elimentary School burns down in Boggs Twp.
    2. I am not sure of the year that this school was built. I do know that it was built prior to 1911 when my mother first attended the school. It replaced the two story, four room school that stood across the road from it. The two story, four room school was bought by George Grant Wood. He built basement under the old school and it became his residence until the early to mid 1930's. Mother attended yellow brick, Blue Ball school from first grade to the end of eighth grade. She then went on to graduate from the sixth street school in Philipsburg. Thinking back on the school in the 1040's, I cannot remember the first grade teacher's name, but Mrs Dimling tought second and part of third grade. Mrs Dimling lived next to the United Brothern Church there in West Decatur. Miss Olive James tought part of third grade and all of fourth grade. She lived in the house that was across the road, the second one from the courner, next to the old two story school. Mrs Flegal tought fifth grade. I believe she lived in Philipsburg somewhere. Miss Ethel Lumadue tought sixth grade, and lived next to the Methodist church there in West Decatur. Albert Shimmel tought seventh and eighth grades. He also lived across the road from the school.
