Can someone who lives in Clearfield do a lookup for me. I will need death and marriages. Thanks Patsy
I thought I would share Connie's kind response with the list in case there are other PEDEN researchers out there. I believe this Isabella PEDEN and Mr. William ARCHIBALD lived and married in Tioga Co. before they came to Clearfield. (As did my ancestors) It is possible Isabella is in some way related to my James PEDEN, but I have not yet found any proof. Any PEDEN descendants out there who want to correspond? Sorry, can't find them in 1910 anywhere. Tried first names, soundex on surname, even PENDAN, PENDEN as in the 1880 census. Luann, A couple of suggestions.... Since your people probably died between 1900 and 1910, you may be able to find them by obtaining an obituary. Try and locate a library in the area you think they died to see if they can find them. Most libraries have the people indexed, so you might get lucky. I find libraries through the on-line white pages. If they died before about 1905, the county may have a record of their deaths. You can find addresses and fees through http://www.vitalrec.com. Also, try 'Random Acts of Genealogy Kindness' http://www.raogk.org to see if there's a volunteer that would help. Good luck, Bev in Calif. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jocelynn Knight" <jocelynnknight@mchsi.com> To: <PACLEARF-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 03, 2005 7:44 PM Subject: RE: [Clearfield] 1910 PEDEN Lookup Request > Sorry, can't find them in 1910 anywhere. Would anyone know if the St. Francis Catholic Church 175th Anniversary Book will be for sale to those of us living out of town? It will be filled with a wealth of information for researchers. Thanks very much. Loretta Myrter
Jacquelyn Judy wrote back and indicated that my (our) John M. Jordan was not hers. However, thank you for giving me the name of the parents. My next question is from what family does this Jordan descend? I'm a descendent of Mark Jordan and Eva Bloom Jordan; however, Mark had, at least, one brother Frederick who had, at least, three sons, John, Frederick, Jr., and Henry. Judy, if you are still following this string, I just had an epiphany. Marks brother Fredericks sons John and Frederick, Jr. each named a son John. I show John Jordan bn 1808 dd 3/23/1890 Pennsylvania, which I realize doesn't match your Missouri, but I'm throwing it out there anyway. Also, Frederick, Jrs. son John was born 10/10/1799 in Pennsylvania. I have no other info. Hello everyone, I wish to obtain the church marriage record of grandparents married in November, 1913. Both residing in DuBois, they made their application for marriage license in Clearfield conty Pennsylvania. Can anyone give me the address of the Catholic Diocese? The marriage was noted as performed by Rt. Rev. Mgr. R. McGivney, a church is not listed. All assistance is graciously welcome, thank you so much. Nan

Hello - I am seeking contact with VOSS descendents , I am trying to ascertain the date of Death for my Maternal Gr Grandfather WILLIAM ( WILHELM ) STEINLEIN , he married MARIE VOSS after he brought her back from Germany in 1893, and her son HENRY VOSS followed them to Clearfield with his family, in 1899 --- if there are any descendents out there who have any knowledge of my GrGrandfather I would be thrilled to hear from you ..... Thanks, Sally
Hello - I am descended from WILLIAM ( WILHELM ) STEINLEIN, husband of MARIE VOSS - William's daughter JOHANNA STEINLEIN is my Maternal Grandmother - she married PAUL TATE 1898 in Clearfield, their daughter ELIZABETH TATE is my Mother. I am researching the STEINLEINs, back in Neubrandenburg, Germany.... and am trying to determine when and where WILLIAM died- it appears he was listed in the Clearfield Directory in 1905, but was gone by 1906-7 Directory, but there is no record of his death available, and MARIE is still living on Bigler St...... do you have any information about the Death of WILLIAM STEINLEIN ?? Do you know if he moved to Plainfield, New Jersey, after PAUL TATE and JOHANNA moved there about 1905-06, with daughters Ruth and Elizabeth... ? PAUL came down ill in 1909 and died, leaving Johanna with 4 small children, and I wondered if perhaps William went to help her... but I have not found him listed there...... WILLIAM emigrated to America first in 1883, he went back to Germany 1893 and returned with Marie Voss- her son emigrated with wife and 2 small daughters Christmas 1899, thru' Ellis Island......
