Jacox, New Bethlehem William J. Bailey, 80, of 332 Wiley Ave., Rocky Grove, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born in 1928, in Meadville, he was the son of Oakland K. and Susan E. Bailey. He and the former Wilma Jeanne Money were married in July 1956 at Trinity Methodist Church in Ridgway by the Rev. James Cousins. She survives. Mr. Bailey graduated in 1946 from Meadville High School and then entered the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving as a statistical clerk and earning the rank of staff sergeant. He earned a World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal and was honorably discharged in August 1949. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Allegheny College in 1955. Mr. Bailey worked at A.O. Smith and General Electric in Erie before relocating to Franklin in 1968 for a position with Joy Manufacturing, where he remained until his retirement. Mr. Bailey enjoyed golfing, pool, ping pong, tennis and watching all sports on TV. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and followed both professional and college football. He won a ping pong championship in Japan during his military service, and he was a member of the Senior Golf League at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, W. Scott Bailey and his wife, Kathy, of Seneca, Bruce Bailey and his wife, Mary Jo, of Williamsburg, Va., Christopher Bailey and his wife, Brenda, of Aurora, Ohio, and Michael Bailey of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Megan Bailey of Pittsburgh, Joshua Bailey of Seneca, Ryan Bailey, stationed at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, and Gareth Bailey of Williamsburg, Va.; and a daughter-in-law, Alice Castonguay of Franklin. He also is survived by two brothers, James Bailey of Houston, Texas, and Donald Bailey and his wife, Betty, of Venice, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Georgie Jean Bailey of Dunlap, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Oakland K. Bailey Jr. and Harold Bailey; and a sister, Marian Bailey Hyman. Curtis, 83, of Fairview Borough, Petrolia, a veteran of World War II, passed away late Wednesday evening at Chicora Medical Center, following an extended illness. Born Nov. 7, 1925, in East Brady, he was the son of William Clyde and Edith Mae Thomas Curtis. They preceded him in death. He served with the U.S. Navy in both the European and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 7073 at Parker and the American Legion at Brady's Bend. Bill worked for a number of years at the former Knox Glass Corp. in Parker. He then began a 25-year career with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, retiring in 1983 as manager of the store formerly located in Parker. He was Baptist by faith. Surviving are his wife, Ruth E. Kespelher McGarrity Curtis; one daughter, Wilma Gray of Herman; two stepdaughters, Rose Knight of Jamestown, Pa., and Karen Himes of Brookville; two stepsons, Thomas McGarrity of West Palm Beach and David McGarrity of Chicora; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandson; one sister, Betty Bernice Simpson of Clarview Home in Sligo; and a number of nieces and nephews. Born June 28, 1935, in Brookville, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Mary Knapp Delp. He was married to Carol A. Waite, who preceded him in death Dec. 23, 1976. He then married Zenobia Lindstrom, who preceded him in death April 27, 1990. He later married Candice M. Sargent on Dec. 31, 1992, and she survives. He was a lifetime logger and had worked with his business, Delp and Son Logging. Mr. Delp loved his Boston bull terriers and his pigs. In addition to his wife, Candice M. Delp of Guys Mills, he is survived by seven daughters, Laurie Brawley and her husband, Bill, Judy Baron and her companion, Eddie, Margaret Saxton, and Zenobia Hazelhurst and her husband, Craig, all of Meadville, Nicola Delp and her companion, John Karns, of Townville, Cindy Williams of Cambridge Springs and Tina Grinnell and her husband, Jerry, of Venango; and five sons, Matthew Lindstrom and Sam Delp of Meadville, Conrad Delp and his wife, Wanda, and Keith Delp, all of Guys Mills, and Douglas Delp and his wife, Sherri, of Clintonville. Mildred Eloise Drummond, 87, of Route 861, Rimersburg, went to be with her Lord Wednesday evening, May 13, 2009, at her home, following a sudden illness. Born July 25, 1921, in Johnstown, she was a daughter of Durb and Mable Sauder Barefoot. She was married Jan. 13, 1947, to Blair Drummond, who survives. Mrs. Drummond had been a member of Grace Baptist Church in New Bethlehem since its inception in 1953. She worked alongside her husband at the Drummond Animal Hospital. Her greatest love was for her family. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Drummond is survived by two children, Jack Drummond and his wife, Debbie, of Fairmount City and Debbie Byers and her husband, Nelson, of New Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Nicole Drummond, Jenilee Byers, Brian Byers and Kimberly Byers, all of New Bethlehem; one great-grandchild, Andrea Byers; one brother, Charles Barefoot; and one sister, Donna Feathers. Ms. Hepler was the physical plant manager at the University of California-Davis, a member of United Community Church in Sun City Center and a past member of Zonta International. Ms. Hepler enjoyed traveling abroad. She visited Italy, Russia, North Africa, Europe and her favorite place, China. Born June 1, 1943, in Venango County, he was the son of George Thomas Hunsberger and Dorothy Ace Hunsberger. They preceded him in death. He was married to Rose Mook, who also preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Warren W. Hunsberger ll and George Hunsberger, both of Clarion; two daughters, Susann Wruster and Billie Jo Lambert, both of Clarion; two brothers, Larry and Charles Hunsberger, both of Clarion; four sisters, Shirley Kamerer and Dorothy Sarvey, both of Clarion, Donna Hartzell of Shippenville and Lyvonne Cheeks of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. Barbara Jane McClintock Jacobe, 71, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at her home in Oil City. She was born April 19, 1938, in Philadelphia, and she was a graduate of Central Bucks High School, Class of 1956. She was known not only for easily making friends wherever she went but also for her deep dedication to her family and those she befriended. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, L. Howard "Jake" Jacobe. Many will remember her as a manager of Appalachian Trail Outfitters in Doylestown. Barbara also served many years as a Girl Scout Leader and as an election board volunteer. During her retirement, she and Jake enjoyed hiking throughout the U.S. while traveling in their motor home. Barbara served as a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Lambertville, N.J., and was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Oil City. She also was a member of The Presby Pacers, a Relay for Life team of the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her son, John H. Jacobe and his wife, Jill, of Bolingbrook, Ill.; a daughter, Kathy L. Goodwin and her husband, Deane, of Oil City; a sister, Kathy Cornell and her husband, Alvin, of Holicong; and a brother, Bill McClintock and his wife, Anne, of White Stone, Va. She also is survived by two granddaughters, Alethea McLaughlin and her husband, Nathan, of Oil City and Rebecca Bish and her husband, Curtis, of Oil City; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Bish, Katelyn Bish and Alex McLaughlin; and several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and family members. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Goodwin. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Second Presbyterian Church of Oil City, with the Rev. Howard Gaston officiating. Jacox, 43, of New Bethlehem, died Wednesday morning, May 13, 2009, at Forbes Hospice in Pittsburgh following a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born May 25, 1965, in Brookville, she was a daughter of Clair H. Jacox and Barbara A. Tosh Jacox. She was a 1983 graduate of Redbank Valley High School, a cum laude graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in finance, and a graduate of the Duquense University School of Law with her juris doctorate. Miss Jacox began her career in employee benefits as an underwriting analyst for Equicor, a Cigna company, and Health America. While there, she analyzed group claim and utilization experience and developed pricing models. After completing law school, she continued on to a senior management position with Ernst & Young LLP as a national resource in the human resources consulting practice. She then worked as a senior consultant in the employee benefits practice for Solenture, Inc. She was currently employed as a benefits consultant for Strategic Employee Benefit Services of Pittsburgh, a division of Northwestern Mutual. She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Allegheny Bar Association. Miss Jacox enjoyed golfing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her special nephew, Ian. Miss Jacox is survived by three sisters, Julie A. McGuire and her husband, David, of Fairmount City, Rhonda C. Jacox of New Bethlehem and Sherry Taylor and her husband, Jeff, of Fairmount City; two nephews, Shawn Adams of Colorado and Ian Taylor of Fairmount City; a step-nephew, Jesse Taylor of Summerville; a step-niece, Jeanne Taylor of Maryland; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father in 1982, her mother in 2004, her maternal grandparents, James and Catherine Tosh; and her paternal grandparents, Irvin and Izie Jacox.
