    3. The Derrick, May 7, 2009: Hazel R. Blanchard, Southwoods Assisted Living Community, Titusville Dorothy Louise "Dot" Farren Dille, 357 Halyday Run Road, Oil City Robert E. Nulph, Sterrett Road, Grove City Evelyn Thompson, Thompson Drive, Lucinda Glenn Lesh memorial set Saturday Mrs. Hazel R. Blanchard, 93, formerly of 251 S. Main St., Pleasantville, and 414 W. Walnut St., Titusville, died at 5:14 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Southwoods Assisted Living Community in Titusville, where she had been a resident since January 2004. Born Nov. 14, 1915, in Pleasantville, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Roth Reed. She was married June 30, 1934, in Pleasantville, to Miles B. Blanchard , who preceded her in death June 6, 1989. Mrs. Blanchard graduated in 1934 from Pleasantville High School. She was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church and a former member of Pleasantville Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the Pleasantville Senior Citizens and along with her husband was instrumental in the formation of that group. She also was a member of the Pleasantville High School girls' regional championship basketball team from 1931 to 1932. She was known for her good sense of humor and was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Blanchard is survived by a son, David M. Blanchard of Oil City; a daughter, Linda Taylor and husband, Richard, of Williamsport; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildrenand numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Eugene Blanchard; two brothers, Charles Reed and Lawrence Reed; and four sisters, Betty Reed, Eleanor Musica, Irene Bearce and Helen Launer. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, senior assistant to the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville, 16354. Dorothy Louise "Dot" Farren Dille, 91, of 357 Halyday Run Road, Oil City, died Tuesday morning, May 5, 2009, at her residence. Born Dec. 5, 1917, in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Cora Heffern Farren. She was married June 21, 1937, to Howard Dalton Dille, who preceded her in death May 8, 1996. Mrs. Dille was a 1936 graduate of Oil City High School. She was a member of the First Church of God, where she was a member of the WCG and had been a Sunday school superintendent. Mrs. Dille is survived by three children, Judy Lighty of Anderson, Ind., Larry "Buck" Dille and his fiancé, Nadia Dawoud, of Bath, and Sheri Manross of Oil City; and 11 grandchildren, Kerry Lighty and his wife, Jenene, of Avon Ind., Keena Wood of Largo Fla., Greg Dille and his wife, Donna, of Allentown, Amy Boncaro and her husband, Sam of Geneva N.Y., Melissa Manness and her husband, Wayne, of Towanda Ill., Andrew Dille and his wife, Dawn, of Allentown, Rob Manross and his wife, Donna, of Rouseville, Stacy Beightol and her husband, Richard, of Victory Heights, Michelle Winger and her husband, Jerry, of Oil City, Misty Manross and her fiancé, Bob Goodman, of Oil City and Cathi Carrick and her husband, Dave of Punxsutawney. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Marvin of Oil City; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Dille of Townville. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dille was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Dille; Larry Dille's twin sisters; a one and a half year old son, Richard Dille; a brother, Walter Farren; four sisters, Elvenia McClelland, Freda Blackman, Edna Karns Cornmesser and Grace Marvin; and a son-in-law, Robert Manross Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Morrison Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a..m. Saturday at the First Church of God. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Brenda Snedden and the Rev. Bonnie Stoudt officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Church of God or the Oil City Library. Robert E. Nulph, 79, of Sterrett Road, Grove City, formerly of Irwin Township, Venango County, died at 4:38 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Sharon Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Born July 8, 1929, in Washington Township, Butler County, he was the son of the late Wallace Lee Nulph and Florence Belle Taylor Nulph Weaver. He was married Aug. 28, 1964, to Edna L. Ferguson, who survives. Mr. Nulph was a supervisor in the machine shop at Cooper Energy Services in Grove City for 43 years until his retirement in 1989. He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Nulph enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked cars and followed NASCAR. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Franklin and Debra Urban and her husband, Joe, all of Mercer; one granddaughter, Kelly Zahniser of Bessemer; three grandsons, Edward Zahniser of Woodville, Fla., and Shawn Urban and Jason Urban, both of Mercer; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Janet Croll and her husband, Elmer, of Slippery Rock, Phyllis Shiels and her husband, Sam, of Philadelphia, Sally Snyder of West Middlesex and Linda Nulph of Grove City; three brothers, Larry Nulph and his wife, Arlene, of Bensalem, Dennis Nulph and his wife, Betty, of Denton, Texas, and Bruce Nulph and his wife, LaRue, of Mercer; one sister-in-law, Georgia Nulph of Grove City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter G. Weaver; one brother, James W. Nulph, who passed away in 2004; and one son-in-law, Danny Franklin, who died in 2000. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cunningham Funeral Home Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Greenlee, pastor of Millbrook Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Grove City. Memorial contributions may be made to Millbrook Presbyterian Church, Millbrook Road, Jackson Center, 16133 Evelyn Thompson, 92, of Thompson Drive, Lucinda, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, in the Golden Living Center at Shippenville. The Goble Funeral Home and Crematory in Clarion is handling arrangements. A complete obituary will be published Friday in The Derrick. Glenn Lesh memorial set Saturday A memorial service for Glenn C. Lesh of Cochranton will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Cochranton Presbyterian Church. Mr. Lesh, 88, of 181 S. Franklin St. in Cochranton, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, at Forbes Hospice in Pittsburgh following a battle with cancer for six and a half years. The Rev. J. Harvey Boal from Cochranton Presbyterian Church will officiate at Saturday's service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to Cochranton Public Library, 107 Pine St., Cochranton, 16314. The Dickson Family Funeral Home, Cochranton, is in charge of arrangements.
