Shoffstall, Dillsburg June Edis Ziegler, Shippenville Getting it right - Gertrude Marie Kulling Gertrude Marie "Trudy" Kulling: Gertrude Marie "Trudy" Kulling, 90, of the Presbyterian Nursing Home of Oil City, formerly of 11 Maple Ave., Oil City, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, early Saturday morning, May 16, 2009, at the UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Among Mrs. Kulling's survivors are 16 great grandchildren, including Imogen Kulling. William R. Fisher III, 27, of Grove City, formerly of Hilliards, Butler County, died suddenly as a result of a one-vehicle accident on Branchton Road, Butler County, early Saturday morning, May 16, 2009. He was the son of William R. Fisher Jr. and Shelba Fisher. He is survived by his fiancee, one brother, two sisters and two daughters. Mark Stewart McCall, 80, of Route 68, Rimersburg, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Sunday May 17, 2009, in the intensive care unit of Clarion Hospital following a brief illness. Born Sept. 27, 1928, in Toby Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Paul V. McCall and Mary F. Hillis McCall. He was married Sept. 24, 1954, to the former Norine S. Saylor of Bruin, who survives. Mr. McCall graduated in 1947 from Sligo High School, and he had attended Nail Elementary School in Toby Township. He graduated from the Ora Jean Barber School in Erie in 1960, and he retired from barbering April 28, 2006, after 46 years. He also was employed at Clarion University in the maintenance department for 26 of those years. Mr. McCall served with the U.S. Army stateside during the Korean Conflict with the military police from 1950 until 1952. He was a member of Callensburg Church of God and Shearer Shick American Legion Post 7076 of Rimersburg. In addition to his wife, Mr. McCall is survived by two daughters, Ann Kathryn McCall of Rimersburg and Amy Leigh Evans and her husband, Randy E., of New Bethlehem; a granddaughter, Ryleigh Kathryn Evans, who called him "Ba," of New Bethlehem; a sister, Marian Elaine Kapp and her husband, John Paul of Clarion; a brother, Frank R. McCall and his wife, Margie, of Callensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry W. Rapp, pastor of the Callensburg Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Sligo. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the Rimersburg VFW and American Legion Ceremonial Squad. Miller, 79, of the Roseville Sigel Road, Brookville, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville. Born Jan. 30, 1930, in Waterson, he was the son of J. Ray and Lucy E. McClune Miller. He was married July 8, 1950, in Limestone to Vivian Neale, who survives. Mr. Miller worked for the Chevron Oil Co. as a field formean for more than 35 years before retiring. He was a member of Roseville Church of Christ and the Roseville-Bethel Cemetery Association. Mr. Miller was a previous Union Township supervisor. He also was a former Little League coach, and he loved the outdoors, animals and hunting. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas G. Miller and his wife, Betty, of Sigel; a sister-in-law, Deanna Garvey of Livingston, Texas; two granchildren, Katherine Quayle and her husband, Andrew, and Annette Beer and her fiance, Chris Colwell; a great-grandson, Steve Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Cameron, Kenneth, Harold and Dale Miller. Shoffstall, 54, of Dillsburg, died unexpectedly of natural causes Friday, May 15, 2009, at his home. Born Aug. 9, 1954, in Brookville, he was the son of Russell Shoffstall and Marie (Caldwell) Shoffstall Newman. Mr. Shoffstall worked for Digital Inc. of Dillsburg. Steve was a huge Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and riding his bike. He is survived by his mother Marie (Caldwell) Shoffstall Newman of Lucinda; his former wife, Patricia (Fulmer) Shoffstall of Franklin; two sons, Matt Simpson and his wife Robyn of Clarion and their three children, Marcella, Rebecca and Emily; and Joseph Shoffstall of Franklin. He is also survived by one brother, Dan Shoffstall and his wife Cathy of Brookville; three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Rhonda) Campbell of Mt. Airy, Md.; Mrs Richard (Kimberly) Baumcratz of Lucinda; and Mrs. Glen (Julie) Anthony of Brookville; and one step-sister, Mrs. Will (Madonna) Gump of Punxsutawney. He was preceeded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents. An outdoor memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of Richard Baumcratz of Lucinda. June Edis Ziegler, 82, of Shippenville died Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2009, in her home, following a lengthy illness. Born Aug. 26, 1926, in Rocky Grove, she was the daughter of Donald and Edna Hart Lindsey. She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and worked at Joy Manufacturing in her earlier years. She was to married Nyle Dean Ziegler, who preceded her in death in August 1998. Mrs. Ziegler was a member of Van United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She and her husband were active in mission work. They hosted missionary families in their home and traveled to Haiti on mission work trips. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also had a love of music and enjoyed watching and listening to the Gaithers. Her favorite song was "Make Me a Blessing." She had an interest in poetry and even penned a few of her own poems. Mrs. Ziegler was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was kind, gentle, generous and sweet tempered, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. Survivors include four children, Dean D. Ziegler and his wife, Linda, of Harmony, Mark A. Ziegler and his wife, Judy, of Halifax, Vonne E. Ziegler of Shippenville and Timothy D. Ziegler and his wife, Cheryl, of Upland, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Amy and her husband, Rob, Daniel and his wife, Eva, Jonathan, Jennifer, Justin and his wife, Shannon, Jordan and Katelynn; and three great-grandchildren, Madelaine, Maralyn and Joseph. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m today at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., Knox.
