Means Sr., 1597 Pittsburgh Road, Franklin Willard Alton Sibble Jr., Slippery Rock Getting it right - Hilda Mae Hartle Crusan Getting it right - Ivan L. Logue Shirley A. Becker, 75, of 721 Orange St., Oil City, went to be with the Lord at 11:57 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born March 14, 1934, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Margaret Hagan Hopper. She was first married June 20, 1952, to Kenneth B. Hovis, who was killed June 2, 1953, in the Korean War. She was then married July 21, 1956, in the Free Methodist Church to William C. Becker, who survives. Mrs. Becker attended both Oil City and Cranberry schools. She had worked as an aide for the Oil City Hospital, Grandview Convalescent Home and later for Polk Center. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Oil City. She enjoyed visiting her friends and making visits to the area nursing homes. Mrs. Becker also enjoyed flowers and the companionship of her dog, Cocoa Bean. Shirley was a people person and enjoyed her family and friends immensely. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Becker is survived by two daughters, Faye Proctor of Englewood, Colo., and Margaret Mellon of Oil City; a son, William F. Becker of Seneca; and three grandchildren, James T. Proctor, Tasha Becker and Kaitlyn McDonald. She is also survived by four sisters, Drucilla "Dootie" Burneisen of Oil City, Ellen Stiller and her husband, John, of Oil City, Betty Joan Conway and her husband, David, of Oil City and Connie B. Baker of Oil City; several nieces and nephews; and two dear friends, Mary Lou McClelland of Oil City and Marilyn Shepard of Rouseville. In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Becker was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Raymond Burneisen. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory in Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Jerry Feehan, an elder at First Baptist Church in Oil City, presiding. Interment will take place at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be sent at www.reinselfuneralhome.com James Eshbaugh, 64, of Spur 64 Road, Corsica, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at his residence. Born June 12, 1944, in Corsica, he was the son of Donald R. Eshbaugh and the late Vivian L. Smith Eshbaugh. He was married April 19, 1963, to the former Shirley Yeany, who survives. Mr. Eshbaugh enjoyed watching TV and westerns, hunting and fishing, and he loved his grandchildren. He was a truck driver for Glenn Redi Mix. In addition to his father and wife, Mr. Eshbaugh is survived by two sons, Edwin Eshbaugh of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Kenneth Eshbaugh and his companion, Emily Turner, of Corsica; one daughter, Jamie Hyde and her fiance, Kenneth Miller, of Lebanon; three sisters, Bonnie Smith and her husband, Pat, of Roseville, Marge Renninger and her husband, Bill, of Strattanville and Peg Becker and her husband, Gordon, of Punxsutawney; and five grandchildren, Corey, Justin and Shane Eshbaugh and Victoria and Skylar Hyde. In addition to his mother, Mr. Eshbaugh was preceded in death by a son, Robert James Eshbaugh. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Regis J. Griebel, 86, formerly of Millcreek Road, Miola, passed away Wednesday morning, May 20, 2009, at McKinley Health Care in Brookville. Born Nov. 10, 1922, in Lucinda, he was the son of Andrew and Margret Ochs Griebel, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on May 15, 1948, to Lois J. Reed, who survives. They recently celebrated their 61st Anniversary. He worked for the Owens-Illinois glass plant for 32 years before retiring. Mr. Griebel was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Carol Ann Cyphert of Shannondale, Michael Paul Griebel and his wife, Katha, of Vowinckel, John Mark Griebel of Casper, Wyo., Susan Lynn Daley and her husband, Luke, of Somerville, N.J., and Lisa Marie Griebel and her friend, Thomas Hewitt, of Jefferson, Ga. He is also survived by one sister, Lucille Bauer and her husband, Dennis, of Bradford; five grandchildren, Erica and Tabitha Daley, Brad Cyphert, Stephanie Schrecengost and Jaime Slack; and four great-grandchildren, Kristin Schrecengost, and Alyssa, Kara and Kendan Cyphert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and James Griebel; four sisters, Beatrice Lutz, Margret O'Neill, Germaine Gatesman and Leona Rapp; an infant sister; and a son-on-law, Ken Cyphert. Friends we be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion with the Rev. Monty Sayers officiating. Born Nov. 22, 1928, in Rockland, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Bird and Blanche Irene Milford Mays. She was married May 17, 1947, to Jack C. Mahle, who survives. Mrs. Mahle was a 1946 graduate of Cranberry High School. She was a member of the Rockland United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mahle enjoyed sewing, knitting, watching birds and caring for her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mahle is survived by eight children and their spouses, Jill and Terry Smith and Jan and Dale Anderson of Sandy Lake, Dave and Barb Mahle and Dean and Pam Mahle of Rockland, Dennis and Ginger Mahle of Summerville, Jeanine and Gary Taylor of Smethport, Patty and Ron Hughes of Gettysburg, and Nancy and Jeff Heeter of Rockland; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Laura Hartzell of Fertigs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Snyder and Clara Smith. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Morrison Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon Logue.
