Ziegler, Shippenville Janice Irene Brown, 39, of Rockwood Avenue, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 14, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Oct. 6, 1969, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Forrest D. Hill and the late Elizabeth Ann Minnis Hill. She was married July 9, 1996, to Michael Anthony Brown, who survives. She was a 1988 graduate of Cranberry High School. Mrs. Brown worked as a hair stylist at Smart Style. She attended the First Church of God in Oil City. In addition to husband, Mrs. Brown is survived by three children, Rayanna Brown and twins Shea Lynn Brown and Hunter Brown, all at home; her father, Forrest Hill of Oklahoma; and two sisters, Shelly Newsome and her husband, Bob, of Reno and Susie Hill of Oklahoma. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Althea Jean "Jean" Craig, 88, of Avondale Lane, Rimersburg, Madison Township, Clarion County, passed away at 11: 15 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Clarion Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Shannan near Pinoak in Madison Township, Clarion County, a daughter of the late Clinton Ellsworth Swartz and Clara Belle Weston Swartz. She was married Feb. 19, 1938, in Kittanning, to Stanley O. Craig, who preceded her in death June 21, 2008. Mrs. Craig was a longtime member of the Lawsonham United Methodist Church and had attended the Pinoak and Rimersburg schools. She had been employed at Eccles Nursery near Rimersburg for eight years. Mrs. Craig is survived by a son, Roger Stanley Craig and his wife, Laura Ann, of Perryville; two daughters, Patricia Jean Weaver of New Bethlehem and Judith Eileen Hiles and her husband, William, of Rimersburg; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Swartz and his wife, Jean, of Widnoon and Charles Swartz of Sharon; a sister, Eloise Klingensmith and her husband, Richard, of Kittanning; a sister-in-law, Helen Swartz; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by six sisters, Virginia L. Swartz, Frances Best, Stella Craig, Helen House, Dorothy Slee and Tess Setser; a brother, Lloyd Swartz and a great grandson, Ryan Scott Slee, whbo died Jan. 18, 2001. Fisher III, 27, of Grove City, formerly of Hilliards, Butler County, died as a result of a one-vehicle accident on Branchton Road, Butler County, early Saturday morning May 16, 2009. He was the son of William Jr. and Shelba Fisher. He is survived by a fiancé, one brother, two sisters, and two daughters. Gertrude Marie "Trudy" Kulling, 90, of the Presbyterian Nursing Home of Oil City, formerly of 11 Maple Ave., Oil City, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, early Saturday morning, May 16, 2009, at the UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born July 2, 1918, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Elizabeth Zielke. She was married to Frank A Kulling. Mrs. Kulling spent her last several years at Presbyterian Nursing Home in Oil City where she was cared for by a loving and attentive staff. Trudy was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, and most recently attended Christ Lutheran Church on Grandview Road. Trudy marveled at the every day things in life as miraculous and wondrous creations of Jesus Christ. She found joy and happiness in bird songs, the flowers of spring, the greening of the trees and forests and the vividly picturesque sunsets of western Pennsylvania. She enjoyed reading her Bible, The Portals of Prayers, and The Lutheran Witness. She was particularly fond of the music of Victor Herbert, including "The Student Prince," and "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life," and Johann Strauss, including "The Blue Danube" and "Tales From Vienna Woods." She was particularly proud of her children and often referred to them as "the jewels in her crown." None of her childrens events or accomplishments were too small to be cherished and lovingly recalled. Mrs. Kulling is survived by six children, Frank Kulling and his wife, Dorothy, Joyce Latshaw and her husband, Edward, David Kulling and his wife, Renee, Jean Hughes and her husband, Mick, Bill Kulling and his wife, Ethie and Dan Kulling and his wife, Cinnamon. She is survived by 21 grandchildren and their spouses, Laura and Stephen Mitchell, Michael and Kristen Kulling, Kristin and Chad Hutcherson, Amy and Grant Meabon, Eric and Gina Latshaw, Cindy and David Nuhfer, Bruce Sharrar, Christoph and Nerissa Kulling, Robert and Amy Kulling, Quinn Kulling, Augustus Kulling, Sean Hughes, Catherine Hughes, Nathan Kulling, Kurt Kulling, Elise Kulling, Chelsea Kulling, Daniel Kulling, Stephanie Kulling, Hunter French and Shania Kulling. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Miranda Mitchell, MacKendrick and Katelyn Kulling, Madelynn and Luke Hutcherson, Torrin and Desirea Meabon, Jalayna and Morgan Latshaw, Madison, Alexander, Ethan, and Lucas Nuhfer and Kayla Sharrar. Larry Hays Longwell, 74, of 5877 U.S. Route 322, Franklin, died at 11:33 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at UPMC Northwest Medical Center. Born Feb. 5, 1935, in Franklin, he was the son of the late Dudley C. Longwell and Ferdelia Dora Baker. He was first married May 18, 1955, to the former Bertha Louise Blakley, who preceded him in death Jan. 11, 1990. He was later married June 28, 1991, to the former Kathryn "Katie" Axtell, who survives. Mr. Longwell retired in 1991 after 33 years as a roll bar operator for Franklin Steel. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Seneca. Mr. Longwell enjoyed racing, antique car collecting, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a Dale Earnhardt fan. In addition to his wife, Mr. Longwell is survived by two children, Larry R. Longwell and his wife, Crystal, of Franklin and Pamela Riffe and her husband, Larry, of Transfer; four step-children, Dean Sherbondy of Greenville, Michelle Rafferty and her husband, Brian, of Stoneboro, Holly Beck and her husband, Roger, of Greenville and Tracey Carlisle and her husband, Michigan, of Cleveland, Ohio; a grandchild, Dan Prichard and his wife, Angel, of Titusville;10 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Samantha Prichard and Andrew Prichard, both of Titusville; and three step-great-grandchildren. Born April 22, 1925, in Brookville, he was a son of the late George and Ethel Oakes Sweeney. He eloped and was married Aug. 27, 1945, in Westminster, Md., to the former Margaret R. Waters, who survives. The couple had been married for 63 years and Margaret was the love of his life. Mr. Sweeney served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at the Oil City Ice Co., the Pennsylvania Railroad and retired in 1988 from Greenville Steel Car. Frank enjoyed racing, building race cars with his brother Robert and, in his later years, enjoyed fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sweeney is survived by four children, Cheryl D. Sweeney of Richmond Ky., Raymond L. Sweeney, Robert P. Sweeney and his wife, Gladys and Diana L. Sloan and her husband, Paul, all of Seneca; a nephew, whom he raised, Carmel L. Chafin of Meadville; and 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles M. Sweeney of Punxsutawney, and Robert E. Sweeney of Seneca. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Frank R. Sweeney Jr. and his wife, Ann; a granddaughter; a brother, Ronald C. Sweeney; and a sister, Shirley Golden.
