Everman, formerly of Franklin Stephen Facini, 1315 Buffalo, St., Franklin Harvey E. Fingado Sr., 67 Maple Ave., Fairmount City Tanya Kightlinger, Marion, Ohio Barbara Beightol service set David H. Bennett, 93, of Hubbard, Ohio, formerly of Strattanville, died Saturday, May 9, 2009, in Poland, Ohio. Born Aug. 25, 1915, in Brookville, he was the son of Henry C. and Anna K. Milliron Bennett, and they preceded him in death. He was married in 1937 to Nellie May Edwards, and she preceded him in death on July 29, 1990. He married Dillie Himes Carrier on Nov. 30, 2001, and she survives. Mr. Bennett was a coal miner. He was a member of Strattanville United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Dillie, he is survived by three sons, Ron David Bennett and his wife, Ginny, of Elkhart, Ind., Gerald Edward Bennett and his wife, Joan, of Falconer, N.Y., and Edwin Leroy Bennett of Monaca; a daughter, Janet Lucille Park and her husband, Fred, of Sigel; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a stepson, David L. Carrier and wife, Janet, of Jonesboro, Ga.; two stepdaughters, Bonnie Rich and husband, Rocco, of Hubbard, Ohio, and Debra Carrier of Decatur, Ga.; seven step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandson. In addition to his parents and his first wife he was preceded in death by a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Madeline Bennett Huffman; three half-brothers, Roy, Bruce and Harry Evans; and two half-sisters, Sarah Evans Smith and Edith Bennett Stoughton. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Friends will also be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Strattanville United Methodist Church in Strattanville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m in the church with the Rev. Julie Applegate and Rev. Luke Oskin officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarview Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to SCOPE, 200 W. "Tip" Canfield, 79, of Fort Meade, Fla., formerly of Rockland, died suddenly Friday, May 8, 2009, at home, with his loving wife at his side. Born July 6, 1929, he was the son of Ruth Ginter Canfield. He was a 1947 graduate of Rockland High school and lived in Rockland until moving to Florida in 1971. He was married Aug. 4, 1951, to the former Shirley King, who survives. Tip was a history buff and wrote many articles, some of which were published in local newspapers and in Reminisce magazine. He also wrote a short story about growing up during World War II; a portion of it was titled "Remembers War Years," and it was published in the Venango County 2000 historical book. He loved movies and had a grand collection to choose from and to share with family and friends. He also enjoyed a good game of golf - weather and alligators permitting. In addition to his wife, he is survived by all of her family members, who were very dear to him; and a special cousin, Donna Linn Hess of Seaford, Del. Funeral services will be held a date to be announced. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Rockland Volunteer Fire Department or to a charity of one's choice. Jessica Autumn Drayer, 30, of Templeton, died unexpectedly late Saturday evening, May 9, 2009, in Ford City. Born Jan. 25, 1979, in Bluffton, Ohio, she was the daughter of H. John and Christy G. Nulph Drayer of Templeton. She was baptized and raised in the Zion Lutheran Church at Mayport. She was a competitive figure skater and won numerous medals in the sport. Miss Drayer is a graduate of the Clarion-Limestone High School. She received a bachelor's degree in communications at Ohio Northern University. She was recently accepted into the pre-nursing program at Butler Community College. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Justin A. Drayer and Virginia Hetrick of Clarion and Jordan A. Drayer of Clarion; her maternal grandparents, Charles and Gwendolyn Nulph of Oak Ridge; aunts and uncles including, Terri and Greg Rhodes of Clarion, Carol and Dave Rosenquest of Summerville, Stephen and Karen Nulph of New Bethlehem, Debbie and Tim Carrico of New Bethlehem and Adam and Jodi Nulph of Oak Ridge; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Herb and Pat Drayer. There will be no public calling hours. A funeral service for family and friends will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Oakland Church of God on the Kohlersburg Road, Distant, Armstrong County, with the Rev. Jimmy Swogger, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Shannondale Union Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be given in the name of Jessica A. Drayer to the Salvation Army-Headquarters, 700 Bell Ave., P.O. Box 742, Carnegie, 15106. Joseph Patrick Everman, 82, formerly of Franklin, died Friday, May 8, 2009, in Bradenton, Fla. He was born in Philadelphia, but later moved to Franklin, where he was employed by GTE for 30 years. He was married for 62 years to the former Bertha Harvath, who survives. Mr. Everman was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Theresa Davis and her husband, Jeffrey, of Tampa, Mary Catherine Tyler of Parrish, Fla., and Delores Jones and her husband, Dan, of Anderson, S.C.; a son, Joseph Everman and his wife, Janet, of Parrish, Fla.; a sister, Jane Hoff of Philadelphia; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today in Bradenton. Arrangements are being handled by Brown & Sons Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bradenton. Stephen F. Facini, 82, of 1315 Buffalo St., Franklin, died at 7:05 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Feb. 28, 1927, in Franklin, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Stelmach Facini. He was married April 20, 1995, in St. Patrick Church, by Monsignor John R. Snyder, to the former Nancy Treadwell Ross, who preceded him in death May 12, 2005. Mr. Facini attended Third Ward Grade School and was a 1945 graduate of Franklin High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 88th Infantry Division during World War II in Italy. He also served in Canada with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Facini graduated from Grove City College in 1952 with a degree in engineering. He was employed as an engineer with Sylvania in Warren, then for several years with Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company and lastly with Brown Boiler Works, both in Franklin. During the early 1960s he was a science instructor in the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Facini was a life long member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin, a founding member of the parish Legion of Mary, a charter member of the Parish Council, a committee member of the Church Centenary in 1967. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic War Veterans, and for many years had been an active member of the Charles F. Power Laymen's Retreat League in both Venango and Crawford Counties. Mr. Facini is survived by a sister, Frances Hajduk of Franklin; a brother, Joseph Facini and his wife, Lorraine, of Franklin; nieces and nephews, Michael Hajduk and his wife, Mary, of Oil City, Rosanne Chamberlain and her husband, Steve, of Franklin, Mark Hajduk of Franklin, Kathy Menda and her husband, Bill, of McLean, Va.; and several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Facini was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Hajduk. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin. A vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Church, with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be made in St. Patrick Cemetery. Born Nov. 1, 1923, in Harvard, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edwin R. Fingado and Pearl Wood Fingado. He was married Oct. 21, 1950, to Evelyn A. Wen Fingado, who survives. Mr. Fingado worked as a groundsman for the State University of New York at Oneonta, N.Y. He was a member of the First Bible Holiness Church in Venus. In addition to his wife, Mr. Fingado is survived by four children, Harvey Edwin Fingado Jr. of Maryland, N.Y., Ruth Ann Dugan of Loveland, Ohio, Diane Marie Clapper of Worcester, N.Y. and Joy Elizabeth Boozer of Mayport; two sisters, Joyce Gahagen and her husband, Lowell, of Fairmount City and Dawn Stahlman and her husband, Everett, of Mayport; and one brother, David Fingado and his wife, Mable, of Clarion; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fingado was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent F. Fingado. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Alcorn Funeral Home of Hawthorn. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Sonja Shirley and Pastor Wesley Sanford officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery in Frogtown. Tonya June Kightlinger, 66, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday morning May 10, 2009, at Heartland of Marion. She was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Meadville. She was married Jan. 28, 1961, in Franklin, to Gary Kightlinger, who survives. Tonya was a homemaker and worked for the Marion Public Library for nine years as a librarian assistant later in her life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Chris Kightlinger and his wife, Kelly, of Powell, Ohio and Jason Kightlinger and his wife, Trevah, of Marion; a daughter, Kerry Stevens and her husband, Brian, of Marion; two brothers, Mike Malys of New Mexico and Pat Malys of Marion; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Brant, Nicholas, Paige, Jordan and Braxton Kightlinger, and Chase and Alexis Stevens. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Russell Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Marion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richland Road Church of Christ or to the Marion area humane society. Barbara Beightol service set Barbara Beightol,68, of Utica, passed away in her home Dec. 23, 2008. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Utica Presbyterian Church.
