Boyd, 86, of 196 North Main St., Seneca, died at 1 p.m., Oct. 22, 2008, at the Presbyterian Home in Oil City. Huff Chapel, Inc. in Franklin is in charge of arrangements. Sophia Smeltzer Dahlstrom, 85, of Oil City, formerly of Monroville, died Oct. 22, 2008, in the UPMC Presbyterian-Montefiore hospital in Pittsburgh. Born July 26, 1923, in Pitcairn, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Hannah Heskin Smeltzer. Mrs. Dahlstrom was a member of the St. Stephen Church in Oil City. She retired from Hoss's Steak & Sea House in Oil City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Dahlstrom. Mrs. Dahlstrom was also preceded in death by a son, Bernhard Dahlstrom; a grandson, Billy Laboon; a brother, Patrick Smeltzer; and three sisters, Mary S. Rook, Hannah Harrie and Sylvania Werner. Mrs. Dahlstrom is survived by her children, Marcia Rager and her husband, Edward, of McKeesport; Gilbert Dahlstrom Jr. of Oil City; and Patricia Paola and her husband, Dave, of Trafford; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerome Smeltzer of Pitcairn and Thomas Smeltzer of Beaver Falls. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc. at 702 7th St., Trafford. Parting prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Michael Church of Pitcairn with the Rev. David Poecking as celebrant. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park in Monroeville. William E. "Bill" Meals, 98, formerly of Clintonville and son of Closs and Rhetta Meals, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, in a hospital in Clopton, Ala. Mr. Meals was a master mechanic. He was the last surviving member of a family of seven. His wife, Mildred, died in 1991. Surviving locally is a sister-in-law, Dorothy Meals of Clintonville. Daniel R. Moore, 51, of 38 Greenville Ave., Clarion, passed away, Oct. 21, 2008, at his residence. Born February 26, 1957, in Brookville, he was the son of J. Robert and Elaine D. Moore. Mr. Moore graduated from Clarion High School in 1975 and Williamsport Community College in December 1978 with an associate degree in carpentry and building construction. Although he did general construction, he took great pride in his carpentry skills and enjoyed working on older homes. He looked forward to family gatherings and hunting and fishing with his wife, father, and other members of the Moore family. He was an avid Steelers and NASCAR Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. Mr. Moore was baptized in the United Methodist Church of Clarion and remained in the Protestant faith. He married Terri Lynn Etzel on Feb. 3, 2000, and she survives. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Zachary R. Moore, a student at the University of Pittsburgh; and a daughter, Danielle E. Delp and her husband, Jode of Hazen; and a granddaughter, Alessa Elizabeth Delp. He is also survived by a sister, Lorna D. McClimans of Franklin; a nephew, Robert N. McClimans of Falling Waters, WV; and numerous aunts and uncles. He will be sadly missed by his close friend and neighbor, Mary Sue Lowman, with whom he shared his compassion for all animals. He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. William A. Houben Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery. (Marvin) Pritchard, 72, of 1005 Halyday Run Road, Oil City, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at UPMC Northwest, surrounded by her family and following a brief illness. Born Nov. 16, 1935, in Franktown, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma Dillie Marvin. She graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1953. She worked as a secretary at Rocky Grove High School and then Oakland Elementary for more than 30 years, retiring in 1998. She married Wayne A. "Jake" Pritchard on Aug. 6, 1954, at Lamey Church in Dempseytown. He preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1989. Mrs. Pritchard was very outgoing and enjoyed camping, bowling, reading, singing, spending time with her family, friends, church family, her many nieces and nephews, and "the widows." She is survived by her two sons, Thomas R. Pritchard and his wife, Nancy, of Seneca and Mark A. Pritchard and his wife, Pam, of Cranberry. She is also survived by her six granddaughters, who affectionately called her "Crazy Grandma": Carrie A. Wyten and her husband, Christopher, of Erie; Joni M. Baker and her husband, Benjamin, of Rockland; Holly K. Coe and her husband, Martin, of Rockland; Emily R. Pritchard of Erie; Angela R. Griffin and her husband, Norm, of Seneca; and Lacey N. Pritchard of Cranberry. She is further survived by her great grandchildren, of whom she was very proud: Cayden and Landon Baker, Rylee and Avery Coe, Madelyn Wyten and baby Griffin, who is expected any day. In addition she is survived by three sisters, Clara Rice, Donna Becker and Edie Frank; two brothers, Charles "Chick" Marvin and Neil Marvin; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Myrtle Reed. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Vogus, and three brothers, Harold, Curt and Lee "Duke" Marvin. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Morrison Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow the viewing at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Oakland United Methodist Church. Thomas O. Radack, 67, of 5 Locust St., Rouseville, died at 4:18 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at UPMC Presbyterian hospital of Pittsburgh after a short illness. Born March 25, 1941, in Titusville, he was the son of the late Fred W. and Harriet O'Brien Radack. Mr. Radack was a graduate of Titusville High School, and he was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Radack had worked for 23 years at Drake Well in Titusville and later for Puralator-Courier in Seneca. He was married Oct. 24, 1964, in St. Stephen Church of Oil City to the former Janet M. McClintock, and she survives. Mr. Radack was a member of St. Venantius Church of Rouseville. He had been the president of the church council, served as Eucharistic minister and was a member of the men's breakfast group. He enjoyed Notre Dame football, spending time with his family and friends and playing cards, and he could be seen riding on his motorized scooter anywhere in Rouseville. In addition to his wife, Mr. Radack is survived by three daughters, Leslie A. Moore of Clayton, N.Y.; Lori A. McCully and her husband, Damon, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Linda A. Toy and her husband, Steve, of Oil City; a son-in-law, James Moore, who is serving in Iraq; five grandchildren, J.T. Moore, Matthew R. McCully, Sarah M. McCully, Aaron J. Toy and Scott A. Toy; three sisters, Ellen Byrnes and her husband, George, of Titusville; Ann Verdi and her husband, Carl, of Wading River, N.Y.; and Margaret Criscione of Charlottesville, Va.; one brother, Fred Radack and his wife, Patricia, of Fallbrook, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Reinsel Funeral Home, 116 Bissell Ave., Oil City. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Venantius Church in Rouseville with the Rev. Matthew Ruyechan presiding. Huffman, 70, of Huckleberry Ridge, Knox, went to be with his beloved Janice, his late wife, at 3:41 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca after an extended illness. Among the things he enjoyed in life was playing euchre. He is survived by his longtime loving companion, Joan Gorham; daughter Barb Hurst and family; and son Ed Gorham and family. Three sisters preceded him in death: Delores A. Riston, infant Mona Lou Huffman and Geraldine Mills.
