Grove, 117 Orchard St., Franklin Anna Kutchravy, Titusville Ann Marie "Sis" O'Donnell, 2313 O'Donnell Road, Sigel Violet Anna Pennington, Bruin Wendell D. Shumaker, Rolling Fields, Conneautville Richard E. Carlile, 62, of Oil City, died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in Clarion after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born June 21, 1946, in Oil City, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Leona Grimm Carlile. Mr. Carlile attended Oil City High School and learned the drywall finishing trade from the late Harry Parker, Sr. Despite his disability, he was always willing to help a friend in need no matter how difficult the task. He gave many children a magical holiday with his Christmas Eve visits dressed as Santa. He was a member of the morning coffee group at McDonalds in Oil City Surviving are his beloved daughter, Rona Greenawalt and her friend, Lisa Laurito; and two granddaughters, Sherill and Brindi, whom he adored. He is also survived by his loyal brother, Joseph; and his son-in-law, Brian Greenawalt; along with several nieces. His daughter' s brother, Fred Weidle, also survives. Mr. Carlile held a very special place in the hearts of his friends: Mitchell Smith and Ruth Paszkowski, Toni Vogan, Randy Bernecky, Jeff and Marilyn Lloyd, Amy and Matt Folwell, the Hernan Family, Alan Samuels, Jacob and Sharon Mast, Thomas Pintal, Charles Brown, Fred Weaver, Francis and Tammy Klescz and countless others; including the Moore, Alabaugh and Bashaw families. Mr. Carlile was preceded in death by his cherished granddaughter, Lindi Nanette Seniour; the love of his life, Linda Renninger; his brother, Jerry; and his sister, Mae, whom he cared for until her death earlier this year. He was also preceded in death by his friends, Daniel Copley, Charles Paden, Donald Gesing and Jerry Kowal. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Reinsel Funeral Home in Oil City with the Rev. Robert Hernan presiding. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Grove, 74, of 117 Orchard St., Franklin, peacefully went home to be with the Lord at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 31, 1934 in Uniontown, Fayette County, she was the beloved daughter of the late George D. and Mary Kathryn King Bosley. She attended the Cochranton and Emlenton Schools. Upon graduation from high school, Mrs. Grove worked for many years as a MRA at Polk Center and retired in 1982. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin, where she was a member of the church's prayer group, Altar Rosary Society and Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed helping out when she was able at St. Patrick School as a lunchroom mother. Mrs. Grove will best be remembered by many young area girls as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for many years. She was an active member of the Oakland Township Senior Citizens' Center. An animal lover, Mrs. Grove cherished time spent with her beloved cats: Samantha, Pataches, Cody and Benji. She was happiest and will be best remembered by her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking for her famil, and spending quality time with her grandchildren; whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed watching television, most especially the ETWN Network. She was married to Wilbert J. Grove, who preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 2004. Mrs. Grove is survived by her children, Susan M. Brown, of Titusville; Sally M. Shaughnessy and her husband, John, of Venus; and Julia M. Roemer and her husband, Alan, of Franklin. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Angela C. Goodman and her special friend, Phil Munoz; Brad A. Poling and his wife, Heather; Robert W. "Robby" Poling; and Julia Ann Simpson and her husband, Matt; her step-grandchildren, Michael Roemer; Darrellyn Warfield and her husband, Lee; Darla Stamm and her fiancé, Jim; Jayne Tarleton and her husband, Arthur; Josiah Roemer Kelly and his fiancé, Stephanie Coxson; Mrs. Grove is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Bryce A. Goodman; a great-grandson, Charlie Simpson; 13 step-great-grandchildren, Christopher and Zachary Roemer, Jamie and Lee Warfield, Ashley Archer, Bailey Walters and twins, Jacob and Joseph Walters, Ashanta Tarleton, Caleb and Cayden Kelly, and Matthew and Katlyn Kelly. Also surviving are Mrs. Grove's very special friends, Matt, Becky and Josh Wise. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Chesmer, of Pulaski; and a brother, Donald G. Bosley and his wife, Kathleen, of Jeanette. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Grove was preceded in death by her twin sister, Hannah Vietta; four brothers, Arthur F., Gerald T., John R., and Patrick Bosley; and a step-grandson, Alan Thomas Roemer Kelly. A Christian wake service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. A funeral mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick Church with the Rev. Robert A. The Missionaries of Charity were founded by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mother Teresa whose mission is "to care for the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers and all of God's people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to society and are shunned by everyone." Anna Kutchravy, 91, of Breedtown Road, Titusville, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008. Born Dec. 24, 1916, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Agnes and John Thomas. Mrs. Kutchravy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers, reading and bingo, and she was a wonderful cook and baker. Anna was extremely proud that she had been able to return to her schooling and obtain her high school diploma at the age of 60. She was married to Joseph Kutchravy in November 1936, and he died in 1990. Mrs. Kutchravy is survived by four daughters, Patricia Strum of Reno, Nev., Joanne Lehman of Lafayette, La., Karen Hauptman and her husband, Joseph, of Concord, N.C., and Debra Allen and her husband, Steve, of Oil City; two sons, Richard Kutchravy and his wife, Darlene, of Rynd Farm and David Kutchravy of Titusville; one brother, George Thomas of Fort Myers, Fla.; and one sister, Elizabeth Weis of Las Vegas, Nev. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, Laura McCaully, Jennifer Lehman, Laura Lehman, Amber Gonzalez, Cindy Renik, Christine Giles, Linda Kutchravy, Jason Kutchravy, Anna Murphy, Michael Kutchravy, Matthew Kutchravy, Melissa Ritchey, James Allen and Joseph Allen; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kutchravy was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Kutchravy of Cherrytree and Thomas Kutchravy of Rynd Farm; three brothers, John Thomas, James Thomas and Edward Thomas; and one sister, Barb Lintz. A private family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Joseph. Ann Marie "Sis" O'Donnell, 78, of 2313 O'Donnell Road, Sigel, died Oct. 25, 2008, in Brookville Hospital. Born Jan. 27, 1930, in Fryburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry Eisenman and Edna Fox Eisenman. Mrs. O'Donnell was a homemaker. She also worked as an enumerator for the Pennsylvania Agricultrual Department; a bank teller for First National Bank of Fryburg; and at the Jefferson Co. Treasurers Office. She was a member of St. Dominic Church in Sigel, where she was a member of the Circle of Goodwill. Mrs. O'Donnell was married June 13, 1959, to Joseph Francis O'Donnell, who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. O'Donnell is survived by two sons, Mark O'Donnell, of Sigel; and Paul F. O'Donnell, of Columbia, Md.; a daughter, Mary Jane O'Donnell, of Sigel; two brothers, John Eisenman, of Pittsburgh; and Leon Eisenman, of President; and two grandchildren, Corey O'Donnell and Meghan O'Donnell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. O'Donnell was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kiser. Visitation hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Dominic Church in Sigel with the Rev. Joseph Staszewski officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic Cemetery in Eldred Twp., Jefferson County. Violet Anna Pennington, 89, of Bruin, passed away Oct. 26, 2008, at her residence from natural causes. Mrs. Pennington was the widow of Harry G. Pennington. She is survived by a daughter, Jessie M. Snyder; and two sons, Gilbert and Robert Pennington. Wendell D. Shumaker , died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Rolling Fields, Conneautville. He was born Dec. 20, 1910, in Armstrong County, Pa., a son of the late Pritner and Martha "Matti" Mohney Shumaker. He married Esther H. Adams on May 28, 1937. Wendell worked as a machinist and tool maker for 24 years at the American Viscose. He subsequently worked as chief project engineer at GTI, Saegertown, for 15 years and also farmed and worked in a brickyard and clay mine. A member of the First Church of God, he was a former member of Meadville Masonic Lodge 408. He enjoyed tool making and woodworking. Survivors, in addition to his wife Esther of 71 years, include two daughters, Diane Rudler and her husband Herbert of Meadville and Joetta Knapp and her husband Richard, Sr. of Saegertown; a son, Wayne Shumaker of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; his twin brother, Randell Shumaker of Saegertown with whom they were the third oldest set of living twins in the U.S.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Twila Smith, Virginia Reddinger, and Elsie Harmon; and one brother, Frank Shumaker. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St. , Meadville. A funeral and committal service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Revs. Harold Ferraro and Temple Jarrell , pastors of First Church of God, officiating.
