    3. The Derrick, October 25, 2008: John H. Bigley Jr., Oil City Richard "Duck" Dennis Brunner Sr., Beaumont, Tex., husband of former Franklin woman Elsie M. Fenchak, Knox RD (Ninevah) William Herring, South Eighth Avenue, Clarion Holly K. McFadden, Piney Road, Clarion John H. Bigley Jr., 68, of Oil City, died at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Shippenville. Born Sept. 10, 1940 in Venus, he was the son of the late John H. and Freda May Martin Bigley Sr. Mr. Bigley was a mechanic and auto body repairman. Over the years he had worked for various lumber and coal companies as a truck driver. He attended Cranberry schools and was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Bigley enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by five children, Cindy Bryant and her husband, Steve, of Florida; Bonnie Hondel and her husband, Jim, of Oil City; Barry Bigley and his wife, Karen, of Clarion; Donna Nichols and her husband, Matt, of Corsica; and John E. Bigley of Shippenville; nine grandchildren, Heather, Jimmy, Stevie, Andrew, Heather, Jenny, Linda, Derek, Isiah; and one great-grandchild, Braxton. Also surviving is his former wife, Fern L. Bigley; two sisters, Nancy Dunkle and Laura Beichner of Oil City; a brother, Fred Bigley and his wife, Deb, of Franklin; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bigley was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Beichner; and a brother, Donald Bigley. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the David C. McEntire Funeral Home, 504 East Penn St., Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Stephanie Weaver, pastor of the Sligo Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fertigs Community Cemetery in Fertigs. Richard "Duck" Dennis Brunner Sr., 52, of Beaumont, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston. Mr. Brunner worked as a safety engineer. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wolford Brunner of Beaumont, Texas, formerly of Franklin; three sons, Richard D. Brunner Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Lumberton, Texas, Lucas Brunner and his wife, Misty, of Evadale, Texas, and Daniel Brunner and his wife, Jessica, of Silsbee, Texas; and two daughters, Angela Bryan and her husband, Glenn, of Colmesneil, Texas, and Crystal Edwards and her husband, Cody, of Singer, La. Also surviving are his mother, Climmie Brunner of Homer, La.; two brothers, Ricky Dean of Lumberton, Texas, and Robert Gordon Brunner Jr. of Homer, La.; and 12 grandchildren. Mr. Brunner was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gordon Brunner Sr. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Chruch in Homer, La. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery in Homer, La. The Farmer Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Fenchak, 87, of Knox RD (Ninevah), died at 12:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Shippenville. Born Jan. 12, 1921, in Braddock, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Marie Krompholtz. Mrs. Fenchak was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of animals and spending time with her grandchildren. She was married Aug. 3, 1942, to George Fenchak, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Fenchak is survived by a daughter, Sandra Banghart and her husband, Jerry, of Washington state; two sons, Ronald Fenchak and his wife, Eunice, of Oregon, and Robert Fenchak and his wife, Linda, of Knox, with whom she made her home; and four grandchildren, Rob Fenchak, Scott Oaks, Shar Oaks and Ben Fenchak. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fenchak was preceded in death by one son, George Fenchak Jr.; one sister, Ruth Ostojic; and one brother, Gussie Krompholtz. The David C. McEntire Funeral Home, 504 East Penn St., Knox, is in charge of arrangements. William Herring, 67, of South Eighth Avenue, Clarion, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at his residence. Born Nov. 4, 1941, in Somerset, he was the son of the late Clyde Herring and Pauline Mathias Herring. Mr. Herring was a welder, and he retired in 1999 from the maintenance shop at the O-B Glass Plant in Clarion. He was married July 2, 1964, to Nancy LaVan who survives. Mr. Herring was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Clarion, the Clarion Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Zem Zems of Erie, Clarion County Trykes and the American Legion in Clarion. He was an avid hunter until he retired. Mr. Herring and his wife had spent their winters in Florida since 1999. Mr. Herring is survived by his wife, Nancy Herring, of Clarion; two sons, William Herring Jr. and his wife, Lynne, of Seattle, and John Herring and his wife, Donella, of Los Angeles; one daughter, Debra and her friend, Teddy Rhoades, of Fredericksburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Andrea Rhoads, Allison Walker, Matt and Mary Kaye Herring and Nick Herring; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis Rhoads, Abby Walker and Noah Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Hauser of First Presbyterian Church in Clarion officiating. McFadden, 49, of Piney Road, Clarion, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at her home. Born Jan. 4, 1959, in Butler, she was the daughter of Chalmer Mays and Melissa Morrison Mays, who both survive. Ms. McFadden had worked for Walmart since 1997. She is survived by her parents, her significant other, William A Riley, of Clarion; one daughter, Jamie McFadden Andrews of Rock Hill, S.C.; three brothers, Matthew Mays of Knox, Michael Mays of Miola and Thaddeus Mays of Shippenville; and one sister, Paige Mays Aiken of South Carolina. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion, with the Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice chaplain, officiating.
