Schwab, Caring Place, Franklin, formerly of Seneca Getting it right - Harry Robert Carpenter Leo A. "Lee" Belfiore, 55, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Brookville, died Sunday, Nov.9, 2008, in Ocala. Born Nov. 10, 1952, in Brookville, he was the son of the late Dominic Belfiore and Grace Holibaugh Belfiore, who survives. Mr. Belfiore was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. He was affiliated with Brookville First Baptist Church, was a member of Brookville Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. Mr. Belfiore also loved horses. He was a 1972 graduate of Brookville Area High School. Mr. Belfiore is survived by one brother, Walter J. Belfiore of Brookville; three nephews, one niece, one great-nephew and one great-niece. In addition to his father, Mr. Belfiore was preceded in death by one brother, Merle D. Belfiore. "Peg" Gruver Doverspike, 85, of 127 Pheasant Farm Road, New Bethlehem, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Born June 2, 1923, in Redbank Township, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Daniel Boddorf and Ruth Louella Martz Boddorf. Mrs. Doverspike worked in the kitchen at Jefferson Manor. She also sold Avon products for 30 years. She was first married to Glenn R. Gruver, who preceded her in death June 12, 1984. She later married Russell D. Doverspike, and he survives. Mrs. Doverspike is survived by one son, Glenn L. "Pete" Gruver and his wife, Jean, of Distant; four daughters, Judy Magnus of Ford City, Carol Singleton and her husband, Dana, of Greenville, Cindy Martin of Hawthorn and Kim McAfoose of Brookville; four sisters, Shirley Plyler and her husband, Ed, of Erie, Joan Hendrock and her husband, Ed, of Ohio, Lois Scott of Ohio and Norma Hilliard and her husband, Ab, of Fairmount City; and one brother, Gerald Copenhaver of Ohio. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Doverspike was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Shick; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Boddorf and Curtis "Billy" Copenhaver; two stepbrothers, Wallace Copenhaver and Leo Copenhaver; one grandson, Thomas "Buddy" Martin; and two great-grandsons, Steven Notto Jr. and Buddy King. Phyllis Clara Harvey, 79, of 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at Sugar Creek Station. Born May 19, 1929, in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Harry Smith and Mildred Henry. Mrs. Harvey was married June 4, 1953, to Howard R. Harvey, who survives. She was employed at Sykes Café/Washington Lunch as a waitress. Mrs. Harvey was an avid bowler and enjoyed arts and crafts. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Ronny Harvey of Palmer, Alaska, Richard Harvey of Harrisville and David Harvey of Adel, Ga. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Deal of Franklin; and one brother, William Smith of Franklin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harvey was preceded in death by nine brothers, Wallace Smith, Harry Smith, Calvin Smith, Melvin Smith, Ronald Smith, Clifford Smith, Richard Smith, Gilbert Smith and Albert Smith; and two sisters, Wilda Baker and Geraldine Davis. Gardinier Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements. Ralph A. Schwab, 93, formerly of Seneca, a resident of The Caring Place in Franklin, died there at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2008. Born Nov. 29, 1914, in Venus, he was a son of Arnold W. and Letta Rickenbrode Schwab. Mr. Schwab was a 1932 graduate of Knox High School. He worked as a chemist at Quaker State from 1932 to 1953, then for Pennzoil, retiring in 1979 with 26 years of service. Mr. Schwab enjoyed traveling and playing the piano. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Petrolia Lodge 363 F&AM, Venango Lodge of Perfection and New Castle Consistory. Mr. Schwab was a former member of the Seneca Volunteer Fire Department and a former committeeman for Boy Scout Troop 23 in Seneca. On June 26, 1937, he married the former Eleanor Nuhfer, who preceded him in death March 30, 1999. Surviving are three sons, Richard A. Schwab of Butler, Thomas R. Schwab of Franklin and Gerald V. Schwab of Oil City; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Albaugh and Bess Joseph; and two brothers, Clair Rickenbrode and O.V. Schwab.
