Rodgers, Oil City Getting it right - Leslie Earl "Hickory" Reed Elwood A. Boling, 85, of Marienville, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Clarion Hospital. Born June 15, 1923, in Imperial, Finley Township, he was the son of the late Donald E. and Alice Lane Boling. He graduated from Finley High School in 1943. He married the former Harriet Brooks on June 1, 1973, in Valley Presbyterian Church in Imperial, and she survives. Mr. Boling was an oiler operator for 10 years with EOLA Coal Co., and he was a millwright and a carpenter with Union 2274. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Uniontown and Scottish Council Chapter Consistory-Valley of Pittsburgh. Mr. Boling was on the advisory board of Rainbow Girls Brownsville Assembly No. 6. In addition to his wife, Mr. Boling is survived by six children, Doris Henry and her husband, Dave, of Harrisville, Ronald Boling of Battle Creek, Mich., Merle Boling and his wife, Missy, of Erie, Randy Boling and his wife, Linda, of Colorado, Monique Boling of Pittsburgh and Sheila Diomeded of Marienville. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Boling was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Tobias, Matilda Fordyce and Bertha Black; and one brother, George Boling. The family will received family and friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Marienville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Daniel Richter, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Marienville United Methodist Church Mission Committee. Richard J. Heasley, 81, of Water Street, Corsica, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born June 13, 1927, in Day City, he was the son of the late Samuel Heasley and Clara Frill Heasley. Mr. Heasley was married Aug. 12, 1950, to Donna L. Simpson, who survives. They had been married for 58 years. Mr. Heasley was a veteran of the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean Conflict in the Engineers Battalion. He retired from Owens-Illinois after 28 years of working in the maintenance department as an electrician. Mr. Heasley was a member of Corsica United Methodist Church for 55 years, the Jefferson County Fire Police, Strattanville American Legion, a council member for Corsica Borough, an honorary member of the Corsica Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of Clarion Masonic Lodge 277, the Coudersport Consistory and the Zem Zem Temple in Erie. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Heasley was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He enjoyed his grandchildren and playing sports, he was an avid outdoorsman, and he enjoyed hunting. In addition to his wife, Mr. Heasley is survived by a son, Randy Heasley and his wife, Beth, of Raliegh, N.C.; a daughter, Vicki Snyder and her husband, Greg, of Corsica; two sisters, Doris Miller of Muncie, Ind., and Phyllis Daughtery of Fisher; and two brothers, Don Heasley and Fred Heasley, both of Strattanville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Adam and Trevor Heasley and Shannon, Joseph and Jeremy Snyder. In addition to his parents, Mr. Heasley was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Heasley. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Box 668, Knox; or to Corsica Volunteer Fire Department, Corsica, 15829. Audrey Jane Miller, 64, of 110 Palmer Ave., Franklin, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at her residence. Born April 6, 1944, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James Cavalet and Audrey Hempsky. Mrs. Miller worked for UPMC Northwest in Franklin for 22 years as a medical transcriptionist. She retired from SUMMA Health Systems as a medical transcriptionist. Mrs. Miller was a member of Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church. She graduated from Mogadore High School in 1962. Mrs. Miller enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and being active in church functions. She was married Feb. 2, 2002, to Harry L. Miller, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Miller is survived by three children, Monica McElhaney of Cooperstown, Daphne Bowman and her husband, James, of Excelsiore Springs, Mo., and Jason Baughman and his wife, Amber, of Franklin; two sisters, Roberta Kyle of Akron, Ohio, and Beverly Elder and her husband, Robert, of Medina, Ohio; and one brother, James Cavalet of Hartville, Ohio. Mrs. Miller is also survived by an ex-husband, Gerald Blaine Baughman of Franklin; a stepson, Larry L. Miller and his wife, Ann, of Central, S.C.; three stepdaughters, Jayne M. Geer and her husband, Edwin, of Traveler's Rest, S.C., Judy M. Doty and her husband, David, of Columbia, S.C., and Carol Faye Strawbridge and her husband, Donald, of Franklin; and two special friends, Crystal Novak of Franklin and Bruce Krepp of Franklin. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by a special friend, Rachel Zerres. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Robert W. Born July 1, 1921, in Oil City, he was the son of the late Harrison "Harry" and Jenny Truran Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers attended Cranberry High School. He was employed at National Transit Pump and Machine Co., Worthington Corp. and CPT in Franklin, and he retired from Joy Manufacturing. Mr. Rodgers was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force in the India-Burma Theatre and in China, where he was a Flying Tiger. On Aug. 5, 1946, he married the former Frances Bruno, and she survives. Mr. Rodgers was a member of St. Stephen Church in Oil City. Mr. Rodgers was a retired assistant chief for Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed working at the fire hall, working on small engines and using his metal detector. In addition to his wife, Mr. Rodgers is survived by two sons, Terrance A. Rodgers and his wife, Sally, of Cooperstown, and Jon R. Rodgers and his wife, Louise, of Oil City; and six daughters, Anna Turco and her husband, Carl, of Erie, Stephanie M. Rodgers of Oil City, Denise Hamilton and her husband, Larry, of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Frances Bechtel and her husband, Elmer, of Farmville, N.C., Helen Jane Rodgers of Oil City, and Carla Hodges and her husband, Kevin, of Rainier, Ore. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews; one sister, Genny Boyer and her husband, Robert, of South Dakota; a special niece, Anna Loll of Titusville; and a special friend, Maggie McMahon of Oil City. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by one grandson, Joseph Harrison Rodgers; two brothers, Harold L. Rodgers and Lloyd "Tuffy" Rodgers; and four sisters, Beulah Skinner, Gladys Rossman, Mildred Wurster and Charlotte Emery.
