    3. The Derrick, November 3, 2008: Jean Jarzenski, 9 Wabash Ave., Oil City Lois J. Kauffman, 712 W. First St., Oil City William H. "Bill" McDaid, Tionesta Walter E. Shuster, Templeton Getting it right Richard E. Carlile: Jean C. Jarzenski, 87, formerly of 9 Wabash Ave. Oil City died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at the Presbyterian Home in Oil City. The Hutchinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will be published in Tuesday's Derrick. Lois J. Kauffman, 56, of 712 W. First St., Oil City, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born Jan. 17, 1952, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the Rev. Kenneth L. Duncan and Helen L. Houp Duncan. Mrs. Kauffman earned her undergraduate degree in Canada from Acadia University and her master's degree from Slippery Rock University. She was an associate director for mental health in Warren County. Mrs. Kauffman was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and the Oil City/Franklin Business and Professional Women's Club. A self-taught single stroke painter, she enjoyed painting, and volunteering with the Toymakers in Franklin. She was married on June 25, 1983, to Daniel J. Kauffman, who survives. Also surviving are two step daughters, Marsha Kauffman of Woodbridge, Va., and Michele Mautawalli and husband, Semo, of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren, Andrew Kauffman and Nadia Mautawalli; one sister, Diane Duncan Gardner of Pittsburgh; two aunts; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg. William H. 'Bill' McDaid William H. "Bill" McDaid, 66, of Tionesta, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at his home in Tionesta. A complete obituary will appear Monday in The Derrick. The Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta is in charge of arrangements. Walter E. Shuster, 72, of Templeton, died Saturday Nov. 1, 2008, at DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born June 7, 1936, in Redbank, Armstrong County, he was a son of William L. and Caroline L. (Matt) Shuster. Mr. Shuster worked as a laborer for the Harbison-Walker Co. of Templeton. He was a member of St. Mary Episcopal Church of Redbank. Mr. Shuster loved gardening, farming, hunting, talking, and sitting on his wooden swing watching wildlife. He was married Dec. 24, 1954, to Dretha Hope (Ortz) Shuster, who survives in Butler. Survivors also include a son and his wife, Douglas E. and Christy Shuster of Templeton; and three daughters and their husbands, Betty L. Shuster-Hanzlik and Robert Hanzlik, of Allentown, Lisa R. and Jeff Forringer of Chickasaw, and Angela J. and Scott Anderson of Bulter. Also surviving are two sisters and their husbands, Isabella and John Clouse of South Carolina and Caroline and Richard "Bud" Kunselman of Templeton; a grandson, Joshua Patton and his wife, Kelli, of Distant; and a great-grandson, Trenton Patton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, Fred, Cort, Joe and Chuck Shuster; two sisters, Jane Elder and Margaret Williams; and twin infant siblings. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Schweinberg officiating. Interment will be in Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery, Mahoning Township, Armstrong County. Getting it right Richard E. Carlile: Richard E. Carlile, 61, of 26 ½ Chestnut St., Oil City, who died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in Clarion after a long illness, was born June 21, 1947. Survivors also included close friends Helen Rodgers and attorney Terrence Whitling as well as his friends at the Salvation Army and McDonald's restaurant.
