Blose, 478 Blose Road, New Bethlehem Raymond Jack Foust, Parker Patricia Ann Harvey, Oil City Vincent "Jeep" Salvadori, Seminole Erin M. Smith, 320 16th St., Franklin Lawrence T. "Larry" Balot, 54, of 214 Lincoln St., Oil City, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, June 1, 2009, at his residence. Born May 29, 1955, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Stanley and Ruth A. Olon Balot. He attended St. Joseph Grade School in Oil City and was a graduate of Oil City High School. He received a bachelor's degree in social services from the University of Iowa. He had been employed as a drug and alcohol counselor for Family Services and by Clarion County as a juvenile probation officer. On Dec. 30, 2004, he fell down his stairs at home. This accident caused a permanent brain injury, forcing him to take disability benefits. He enjoyed listening to music. An avid guitar player prior to his accident, he played with several different bands, including Mirkwood and Stryder. Mr. Balot was of the Catholic faith. He was married Nov. 16, 2002, to the former Virginia E. "Ginny" Prahl at Trinity United Methodist Church in Oil City, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Balot is survived by one son, Gabriel Balot of Marshalltown, Iowa; three stepchildren, Emily Nelson of Franklin, Cody Prahl of Oil City and Jennifer Prahl of Boston, Mass.; three brothers, Steve Balot, Edward Balot and Ted Balot and his wife, Mary Ellen, all of Oil City; and one sister, Jackie Mansfield and her husband, Mark, of Oil City. He is also survived by a mother-in-law, Judy Prahl of Oil City; two sisters-in-law, Pam Baumcratz and her husband, Joe, of Lucinda, and Bobbi Maul and her husband, Lance, and daughter, Darcie, of Oil City; a father-in-law, Richard Prahl of Oil City; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dave Balot. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home and Crematory in Oil City. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Msgr. John W. Swoger, pastor of St. Joseph Church in Oil City, presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Blose, 79, of 478 Blose Road, New Bethlehem, passed away Monday evening, June 1, 2009, at her home with family and husband by her side. Born May 16, 1930, in New Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Lee F. and Sara E. (Spackman) Whiteman. She was married Aug. 13, 1948, to Daniel R. Blose Sr. and the two would have celebrated 61 years of marriage this August. Mrs. Blose, her husband and family owned Bloses Greenhouse and Flower Shop in New Bethlehem until their retirement in 1999. She had a love of music and sang with the Methodist Church choir and on Kittanning radio when she was younger. Mrs. Blose also participated in the choir at Oakwood Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included riding horses, sewing blankets for local charities and being with her husband, children and grandchildren. Mrs. Blose is survived by her husband, Daniel R. Blose Sr. of New Bethlehem; a son, Daniel R. Blose Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Fairmount City; two daughters, Vickie Blose and Dana Blose, both of New Bethlehem; three grandsons, Zackery, Austin and Mitchell Blose, all of Fairmount City and two sisters, Carol "Cookie" and Bob Bish of Fairmount City and Sharon and Gene Heasely of New Bethlehem. She is also survived by an aunt, Helen Shick of South Bethlehem; a sister-in-law, Thelma Bowersox of South Bethlehem; a special young friend, Morgan Pence Marshall and her children of New Bethlehem and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oakwood Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Doug Henry and John McCall officiating. Raymond Jack Foust, 78, of Perry Township, Parker, passed away at 3 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 15, 1931, in Dutch Hill, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Harlan Sr. and Belle R. Kriebel Foust. He was affiliated with the Church of God of Prophecy at New Athens, near Rimersburg. Jack served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953 aboard the Bedoing Strait. He was a member of the VFW Post 7073 of Parker. He was employed by Knox Glass Corp., Sterling Oil, Quaker State Oil Co. and Petrowax, from which he retired in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Susan "Sue" Snyder Foust, whom he married July 11, 1953 in Wickenburg, Ariz. He is also survived by one daughter, Debbie Burkett and her husband, Joe, of Punxsutawney; four sons, Eddie Foust and his wife, Barb, of Dutch Hill, Lonnie Foust and his wife, Marcia, of Indianapolis, Ind., Randy Foust of Claysville, Pa., and Mike Foust of Parker; ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-granddaughters, three step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Fern McMillian, Honey Buzard and Shirley Blauser; four brothers Byron "Abe", Harlan "Snowball" Jr., Gerald and Ronald Foust; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Foust; a grandson, Terry Jack "TJ" Foust; and a sister, Helen Perry. Smith, 29, of 320 16th St., Franklin, went to be with the Lord at 10 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born Aug. 15, 1979, in Chester, she was the daughter of Dennis Cralley and Jacqueline Grimm Cralley, who survive. She graduated in 1997 from Rocky Grove High School where she had been member of the high school band and the choir. She was married to Joshua Trenan Smith , who preceded her in death in September 2007. She worked as a manager at Chili's in Winston-Salem, N.C. and also as an events manager at TPC-Wake Forest County Club. Mrs. Smith was a member of Cooperstown United Methodist Church. She was a member of BPOE #110 and Ducks Unlimited, Sugarcreek Valley chapter. She enjoyed working on Sudoko puzzles, reading and loved the theater. She worked every year with the Susie B. Daniels Golf Tournament. She most of all loved and enjoyed spending time with her children and nephew. Erin was well-known for her beautiful smile and her amazing strength and courage. She was loved by all who knew her. Throughout her battle with cancer, she continued to gain her faith in God. Survivors include her parents, Dennis and Jackie Cralley of Franklin; her two children, Ryah and Trenan Smith, both of Franklin; a brother, Sean Cralley and his wife, Patty, of Cooperstown; her mother-in-law, Debbie Beauchamp; her father-in-law, Thomas Smith and his wife, Patricia, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four brothers-in-law, Josiah, Jacob, Joel and Jeremy; paternal grandparents, Howard and Virginia Cralley of Cedarburg, Wis.; maternal grandmother, Anna Grimm of Kittanning; and a nephew, Dylan Cralley, of Cooperstown . In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jack Grimm. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gardinier Funeral Home in Franklin.
