Urey, 4201 State Highway 8 South, Titusville Schreffler memorial service set Wayne A. Chambers, 92, of Kossuth, went to be with his Lord at 9:25 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2009. Born Alfred Wayne Chambers on Feb. 25, 1917, in Williamsburg, Blair County, he was one of 10 children to the late Ross A. and Emma C. Anderson Chambers. He was married Sept. 7, 1943, by the Rev. B.E. Coleman at his residence in Franklin, to the former Bertha I. Beals. The two celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past September. While growing up, Mr. Chambers worked in the coal mines and for many area farmers. He was stationed in Germany will serving with the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a constable for Ashland Township for 36 years and was also a well known carpenter. He and his brothers, Sam and Roland, built many homes in the area. Mr. Chambers also worked for Howard Fisher of Fisher Builders and he and his wife drove school buses for the Keystone School District for many years. In 1979, he retired from Wagner and Hartle. After retiring, he built many trailers and converted golf carts into dune buggies, trucks, trains, cars and even a forklift. Along with his wife, Mr. Chambers traveled across the United States and to Europe. In recent years, he enjoyed dominoes and watching television, especially Pittsburgh Pirates games. He was a member of the Ashland United Methodist Church in Ashland Township, Clarion County In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Ken Chambers and wife, Linda, of Union City, Helen Best and husband, Wayne, of Shippenville, Don Chambers and wife, Julie, of Kossuth and Lois McMarlin and husband, Zane, of Oil City; 10 grandchildren, Anne Chambers Hill, Rachel Chambers, Andrew Chambers, Stephen Chambers, Darcy Best Shovestull, Sabrina Best Donetelli, Janelle Chambers, Eric Chambers, Doug Wagner and Michelle Wagner Cramer; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Alice Weaver Stine and husband, Bill, of Oil City, Violet Alden Morrison of Seneca and Dorothy Shay Whitting and husband, Jack, of Knox and Fayette, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Chambers of Cranberry and Dixie Chambers of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Roland Chambers, Edward Chambers, Ernest Chambers, Samuel Chambers, Ethel Swartzfager and Charlotte Stumpner. Crissman, 91, of Mayport (Mudlic), died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Clarview Nursing and Rehab Center in Sligo. Born Jan. 10, 1918, in Hawthorn, she was a daughter of the late Blaine Young and Bernice (Wrighter) Young. She was married Oct. 7, 1942, to William C. Crissman, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1986. Mrs. Blauser was a housewife and attended the Mudlic E.U.B. Church. She is survived by two sons, Darl B. Crissman and wife, Joyce, of New Bethlehem and James R. Crissman and wife, Jacqueline, of Rimersburg; four grandchildren, Kelly Nolf of Eddyville, Tim Crissman of South Bethlehem, Jason Crissman of Rimersburg and Missy Switzer of Sligo; two sisters, Bonnie Gohn of Hubbard, Ohio and Shirley Leshock of Brookville; a brother, Delroy Young of Hubbard, Ohio; and nine great-grandchildren. Born Dec. 5, 2008, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, he was a son of Steven Allen Dashner and Lacey Jo Garich. He is survived by his parents; a paternal grandmother, Connie Dashner of Franklin; maternal grandparents, Chris and Missy Garich of Franklin; maternal great-grandmother, Betty L. Mary Catherine Zdarko Miller, 70, of 3536 Ellwood Rd., New Castle, passed away Thursday evening June 11, 2009, at her home. Born Nov. 1, 1938, in Titusville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. Zdarko and Mary Ruppersberg Zdarko Crone. Since 1983, Ms. Miller owned and operated the H.C. Furniture Store on Ellwood Road in New Castle. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing darts, Jimmy Buffett music and watching the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. But most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in New Castle. Ms. Miller is survived by four children, Joseph Francis Miller of Ellwood City, Robert Eugene Miller of Ohiopyle, Mary Ellen Miller Steele of Lebanon, Ohio and Kara Angelucci of New Castle; a son-in-law, Randy Angelucci; two daughters-in-law, Mary K. Ruland, 58, of 1113 1/2 15th Street, Franklin, died at 2:42 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, following a seven year battle with cancer. Born Dec. 29, 1950, in Jamestown, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Perry Ruland Sr. and June Elizabeth Piearson Ruland. She attended the Sugar Grove area schools. Mrs. Ruland lived in the Franklin area for the past 20 years and was employed as a nurses aide for 10 years at Sugar Creek Station. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting and watching the hummingbirds in her backyard. She is survived by her lifelong companion of 30 years, Charles R. Sopher Jr. of Franklin; a daughter, Laura L. Ruland of Sugar Grove; three brothers; two sisters; and an aunt, Gladys Nohlyquist of Winter Haven, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a baby sister. Urey, 70, of 4201 State Highway 8 South, Titusville, died at 7:10 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at UPMC Northwest. Born Aug. 5, 1938, in Marienville, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Sarah Tillinghast Bradybaugh. She was married Nov. 7, 1958, in Clymer, N.Y., to Calvin Urey, who survives. Mrs. Urey was a homemaker who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, camping and playing bingo. She was a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Cherrytree Homemakers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Tom Urey and companion, Toni Brown, of Titusville, Linda Burrows and husband, Dan, of Oil City, John Urey and companion, Lisa McDaniel, of New Mexico, Tammy Urey and companion, Terry Fry, of Oil City and Rhonda Urey and companion, George Cannon, of Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren, Tonia Urey, TJ Williams, Steven Williams and wife, Heidi, Angel Urey, Tiffany Kinney, Timmy Whirley, Calvin Urey, Charlie Urey, John Urey, Darren Pyle Jr., Jimmy Pyle, Shelly McKnight and husband, Teion, Gretchen Donovan and husband, Joe, and Tylor Daugherty; 16 great grandchildren; four brothers; and five sisters. Mrs. Urey was preceded in death by a grandson and two sisters. Private services will be conducted for the family at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home in Titusville. Internment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery. Schreffler memorial service set A memorial service for Roy B. Schreffler, D. Ed., 84, of Knox, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Ave. in Knox. The Rev. Donald Poole, pastor of the Knox United Methodist Church, will officiate. Mr. Schreffler died Friday evening, May 22, 2009, at his home following a brief illness.
